Chairman’s Statement
At the conclusion of the 2022 Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up and Horses in Training Sale, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony commented
“Significant increases in average, median and turnover are the mark of a very solid renewal of the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up Sale, especially when combined with a highly creditable clearance rate in excess of 80%.
"The domestic British and Irish demand at all levels of the market has been matched by diverse international participation which has become the hallmark of this fixture. European buyers, particularly from Italy and Spain, have made a major contribution and they have been joined by buyers from South East Asia and the customary strong contingent of buyers from the Gulf region.
“Eight two-year-olds selling for 100,000 guineas or more and a record sale turnover reflect the strong demand at the top of the market and as ever there have been some notable pinhooking triumphs, but the most pleasing aspect of the sale has been the record equalling median which demonstrates real depth to the trade from start to finish.
"The consignors have supported the Guineas Breeze Up Sale strongly and it has been great to see the buyers respond accordingly, clearly encouraged by the sale’s reputation as a consistent source of Group 1 winners.
"The horses in training section of the sale also continues to thrive and the record turnover, huge rises in average and median and a clearance rate in excess of 90% have contributed to unprecedented combined turnover for the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up and Horses in Training Sale.

Lot 315:
provides the pinhook result of the sale – the Awtaad filly was bought at the Tattersalls December Sale 2021 for just 2,000gns, she was sold today for 110,000gns.
Robbie Mills and fiancé Kirsty Milczarek of RMM Bloodstock could hardly believe their good fortune.
"I have been looking at her and scratching my head all winter wondering why I paid just that for her!" said Mills. "We got lucky and our judgement was right. She was in one of the last Shadwell drafts, so maybe she slipped through, but I really liked her – she was a great walker then and still is now. She has just bloomed all through her prep and blossomed."
The filly was bred by Shadwell and is out of the mare Hawaafez (Nayef), who won the Cumberland Stakes (G3) and the Listed Aston Park Stakes. It is the further family of Wedding Bouquet and champion Moonlight Cloud.
Hawaafez's 2019 foal Rouge Millennium (Dubawi), won on her first career start when successful at Weatherby on April 24 for trainer Tom Clover. She had been purchased by JS Bloodstock for 35,000gns at the Tattersalls December Mares' Sale.
Hawaafez has now had three runners and two winners, including Rouge Millennium's full-brother, the seven-time winner Khatm (Dubawi), who was BHA rated 84 at his best. He was sold to Ibn Ghayam for 55,000gns at the Autumn Horses In Training Sale 2021 by trainer George Boughey.
Mills added: "I doubt we'll do this again! I hope I do, I will be trying to. We have been doing breezers for the last few years, we've had some nice winners, but a result like this is a dream, it is our best result without a doubt."
The couple's business is based at Bill O'Gorman's Seven Springs Stables and from 21 stables they pre-train for various Newmarket trainers, while selling a few youngsters alongside.
"It was a struggle to buy yearlings last autumn, we had one bullet to fire and it hit the target," said Mills.
Ex-jockey Milczarek now rides work for Charlie Appleby, and the couple have two children.
"It is busy trying to fit it all in, but it works," said Milczarek with understatement.
The couple are planning to get married in September – and some of today's profit will be put aside to pay for the big day.

Lot 299:
the Brinckley family of Ard Erin Stud get a result with their first Tattersallls breeze-up consignment – their homebred Gregorian filly selling for 90,000gns, bought by MLW Bell Racing.
Dad David Brinkley and sons Tom and Davey were all at Tattersalls today with their three lots, the team also getting a good return with Lot
184 (Tamayuz ex Rebecca Rolfe) who sold for 90,000gns.
Davey Brinckley explains: "It is our first Tattersalls breeze-up, we are delighted. Dad bred the filly, it was always the plan to come and breeze. We want to do a bit of everything at home – yearlings and breezers, you name it, we'll do it!"
Explaining how the covering plans for the mare Farran (Fast Company) came to include Gregorian, Dave Brinkley said: "Maurice Burns at Rathasker [who stands Gregorian] has helped us in the game for a long time. He has been a big supporter of us."
The mare's 2019 filly Glenall was bred by the Brinkleys and retained. She ran in France., where she collected a fourth placing in the Listed Prix des Reves d'Or trained by Gavin Hernon. The family reported that she is "now doing herself proud in the US".
"Let's hope this filly is up to scratch as well," smiled Brinkley, adding: "Farran is an unbelievable mare, we bred her as well and she was supposed to go to a sale but she cut her back leg. It has worked out."
The boys have completed their equine education and are now back at home at the County Laois-based farm, which is devloping in to more of a stud famr now.
"We have always farmed, but the horses have taken over," says Davey. "Myself and Tomas have worked around the world – I went to Australia and France, Tomas was in the US. We did a good stint with the Kavanaghs at Kildaragh, and Tomas was with Patrick Burns at Loughtown Stud and then we moved back home."
It might have been the first breeze-up sale at Tattersalls for the family, but it is not the first good sale ring result for the boys – at last year's Tattersalls Ireland September Sale they sold a Make Believe colt for £85,000, they had pinhooked him for just €8,000.
(19:28)
Lot 239:
agent Alessandro Marconi goes to 150,000gns for this Mehmas filly sold by John Nolan. She was a vendor buyback for €16,000 as a yearling and is out of the Group 3 Naas Juvenile Sprint Stakes fourth-placed What About Me (Bertolini), a winner as a two-year-old.
"She is for an owner based in Dubai," said Marconi. "The [consignor] Mr Nolan is more experienced in life and in the game than myself and he highly recommended her.
"She did a highly impressive breeze and the underbidder Michael O'Callaghan is very shrewd and has been buying more breeze-up horses and than anyone else and has been very successful!"
He added: "The filly is something special and is the pick of the sale, and she is staying for now in England. We will make a plan in half an hour!"
Of the stallion influence, Marconi enthused: "Mehmas is a great sire, we really like these new speedy sires, such as him and Sioux Nation, we like the speed and that they were precocious. But it is the breeze that is important, time is not everything, it is more the way they gallop out and how they are afterwards.
Of purchasing at this spring's breeze-up sales, he said: "We did not manage to buy at the Craven Sale – this is a good sale for us."
(17:21)
Lot 233:
"He is going to Ed Bethell," said Tom Biggs of Blandford Bloodstock after purchasing this son of Harry Angel for 100,000gns. "We had a good horse last year called Fearby [2020 October Book 3 21,000gns graduate]
"He was a syndicate horse and they have recently sold him so had a bit of money and have gone back in again, wanted something else.
"This is a lovely looking horse – I don't think he is a 'now' horse, but I hope he'd be running July/August and then has the scope to go on again."
Sod by Glending Stables, he is out of the Dalakahani mare Totsiyah from the extended family of the Group 1 winners Footstepsinthesand, Pedro The Great, Power and Curvy.
Fearby (Havana Gold), who was owned by Clarendon Thoroughbred Racing, won the Listed Dragon Stakes on his third career start and went on to finish second in the Mill Reef Stakes (G2), behind Wings Of War last September.
(16:36)
Lot 190:
the daughter of Highland Reel is bought by Micheál Orlandi of Compas Equine with trainer Dave Loughnane at 125,000gns She was sold by Aguiar Bloodstock, having been purchased by Robson Aguiar for €16,000 as a foal.
"She breezed very well, and Dave has done well with breezers," said Orlandi, who added: "Dave came here after racing at Ascot yesterday, saw her this morning and liked her, and she came highly recommended."
Of Highland Reel, Orlandi said: "Dave has one by Highland Reel that he likes a lot, that gave him a lot of confidence for this filly, Highland Reel was a very good racehorse. Dave is on the crest of a wave at the moment."
Loughnane won the Group 3 Merriebelle Stables Commonwealth Cup at Ascot yesterday with the 2021 Craven Sale graduate Go Bears Go, who was purchased by Alex Elliott and Amo Racing for 150,000gns. Last summer the colt by Kodi Bear won the Railway Stakes (G2) and finished second in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G2) to Twilight Gleaming.
The trainer reported after the race that Go Bears Go will be heading for the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.
"He's so tough. I'd have preferred a lead, but he's so much pace and tactical speed and, as soon as Ehraz headed him, it was never in doubt. He'd run through a brick wall for you and is as honest as the day is long. I love him to bits and we did enough to get the job done today, but he's not fully furnished yet. There's a lot to look forward to and we'll come back here for the Commonwealth Cup," said Loughnane.
(15:23)
Lot 177:
bought as a yearling by Shanaville Stables for €16,000 from Orchardstown Stud, this daughter of Sioux Nation sells today for 110,000gns. She was purchased by agent James Delahooke.
"She is for the Scotts of Park Farm Stud," explained Delahooke. "They are going to send her to trainer George Boughey. He already trains a nice filly for them who came out of the Craven Sale last year and who won this week. She is called Mystic Wells.
"This filly was my pick of the sale, she catches the eye. If she can run, she will be a breeding prospect for the farm. Sioux Nation has had some winners and there was a lot of competition for her."
The filly's dam Qamarain (Hard Spun) won as a three-year-old and is a from the family of Corinthian (Pulpit), winner of the Metropolitan Handicap (G1), and Desert Hero (Sea Hero), winner of the San Rafael Stakes (G2) and third in the Santa Anita Derby (G1).
Last year's purchase Mystic Wells (Kitten's Joy) is a 77,000gns Craven Sale graduate, bought by James Delahooke. She is rated 84 and won a 1m2f fillies' handicap at Brighton two days ago having finished second at Windsor on her debut this season. She won as a juvenile over7f.
(14:52)
Lot 170:
consigned by Mayfield Stables, Jamie Piggott spends 110,000gns on this son of Zoffany. The February-born colt is out of the Pivotal mare Pivotal Era, the dam of three winners and a half-sister to Danehurst, a champion older mare in Italy in 2002 and winner of the Flying Five (G2) and three Group 3 races, and a full-sister to Humouresque, winner of the Prix Penelope (G3).
Piggott said: "He goes to John Ryan for Graham Smith-Bernal. We got a nice Ardad at the Craven and I think this horse matches up nicely. He has a bit of scope, vetted as clean as a whistle and was the third-fastest breeze on our timings, you can't ask for any more than that.
"They don't make Zoffany's anymore, and he will be missed. It is nice to be able to get one in to John's yard and no doubt he will do well with him. He has had a lot of success over the years for Graham, and I am really grateful Graham is still supporting us."
(14:40)
Lot 145:
trainer Michael O'Callaghan buys this Time Test colt for 160,000gns. It is the first by the sire bought by O'Callaghan, who is such a strong supporter of the breeze-up sales and who bought three lots for a spend of 257,000gns at the Craven Sale.
"He is a lovely horse, he did one of the better breezes, lovely looking horse," said O'Callaghan. "He has a nice pedigree and is out of a Galileo mare. I though he has the best physical in the sale, hopefully he goes on to be useful."
Of plans, the trainer added: "He is maybe a 7f maiden, but he is forward enough, he could start in three or four weeks. I am delighted to get him."
Of this year's purchases he said: "He is the seventh breeze-up horse I have bought this year, we had a few more bought at this point last year but we keep tipping away and try to get the numbers up as well as a quality bunch. I bought more of a spread of horses last year, but I am trying to buy more of a quality horse this year."
The colt, a first foal out of the winning Galileo mare Luna Mare, was sold by Tally-Ho Stud, the leading consignor at the Craven Sale. The farm paid 65,000gns for him as a yearling at the October Book 3 Sale buying him from Culworth Grounds Stud, which had paid 32,000gns to buy him as a foal from Brook Stud.
(13:56)
Lot 143:
the son of Soldier Hollow is bought by Stuart Boman of Blandford Bloodstock for 130,000gns, sold by Powerstown Stud.
"He is a lovely horse, he is going to Joseph O'Brien and stays in training in Ireland. He is a gorgeous individual, he was bought at the BBAG Yearling Sale very well by Tom Whitehead [Powerstown Stud]; it was actually the day everyone got stuck in the hotel due to the fire the night before. Tom missed the fire and bought the horse!"
Boman added: "I had to come back and buy the horse this year. He is a lovely horse and breezed very well, he is very quick for a stayer as he is a horse bred to get a 1m4f. He showed a lot of speed and is a gorgeous individual."
When asked if in fact so much speed in a stayer could be negative, Boman explained: "Sometimes a horse does go to too quick for its pedigree, but it is all a matter of opinion, and weighing things up – he did a particularly good time for stayer, but it was a top 40 time not a top five time. We are not buying simply on time, a good stride length and a number of things about the horse are important."
The March-born colt, who was bought for €28,000 as a yearling by Whitehead, is out of Loyalty (Lando), a two-time winner in France and a half-sister to Lucky Speed (Silvano), winner of the Deutsches Derby (G1). Loyalty has had one runner, a filly called Lonia who has won in Germany since the catalogue was published
(13:41)
Lot 136:
the daughter of No Nay Never is bought by trainer Richard Spencer for 78,000gns, who signed the docket for owner Phil Cunningham.
After signing the docket, Spencer said: "I was watching the breeze and liked her, she is a good mover. Seeing her in the flesh I felt she has a good temperament and is a good physical. Obviously she has also got a page to back that up, which is always a bonus. She has been bought by Phil, but we might find some partners for her, too."
Spencer added: "I had a list of what I liked breeze, try and coincide with the times, but we are not too worried about the times."
The filly is out of the Group 3 Park Stakes third-placed Last Waltz (Danehill Dancer) and was sold by Egmont Stud. She was withdrawn from her assignment at the yearling sales.

Halimi (Teofilo), rated 82 and a winner at the beginning of the month over 2m when he beat Red Verdon in a handicap racing off a BHA mark of 93, is purchased by Marco Bozzi Bloodstock from the Gainsborough Thoroughbreds draft.
"He is a stayer, he is sound, he has no problem with the vet, he likes good ground and he is exactly what my client is looking for – a horse who can stay and run in Group races in Italy," said Bozzi. "He goes into training with Bruno Grizzetti and has been bought for a long-standing client of mine. He has had horses in Italy before, has some now in France, but this horse will be trained in Italy."
Bozzi predicated a busy autumn for Halimi: "We have a lot of races in Italy over this sort trip from September to October and November."
Halimi has run 30 times, won five races including a Group 3 at Meydan and the Listed Devoy Stakes at Naas. Previously trained by Jim Bolger, he has been trained by Simon and Ed Crisford since January 2021.
(12:26)
Lot 77 and Lot 82:
both horses are bought by Sheikh Abdullah Almalek Alsabah for 50,000gns apeice.
Wolsey, offered by Jamie Railton Bloodstock and sold for Qatar Racing, makes 50,000gns. He is going to Saudi Arabia, bought by Sheikh Abdullah Almalek Alsabah, but as explained by the Sheikh's representative may stay in the UK for a time first, plans are fluid.
The Kitten's Joy colt, BHA rated 75, has yet to win a race, but has twice finished second, last time out on April 23 at Doncaster over 1m4f.
He is out of the Grade 3-winning mare Justaroundmidnight, dam of the American Oaks (G1) winner Duopoly (Animal Kingdom).
The three-year-old colt Fraction (Lot
82), by War Front and out of the Prix Marcel Boussac (G1) winner Proportional (Beat Hollow), the 2008 champion two-year-old in France, has run once, also in France for Francis-Henri Graffard. He was sold as part of the Juddmonte draft.
(11:37)
Lot 50:
Neil Mulholland Racing goes to 50,000gns for the Bethell Racing-offered Trolley Boy, a bumper winner in December. The four-year-old Casamento gelding also finished second in a bumper last October.
He is a Charles Cyzer homebred out of the Dubawi mare Where I Be, who is the dam of three winners and a half-sister to the Group 2 placed On Our Way / Chater Way (Oasis Dream), who has also been Listed placed in Sha Tin.
"The form of his bumpers has worked out, he is a nice stamp of a horse, if you go and try and buy a three-year-old store in Ireland over the next few months will cost you even more," said Neil Mulholland. "This horse is broken in, he is a good mover, a good walker, he has finished second and first, I think he is a good calculated risk for someone for a bit of fun with, fingers crossed he can bend his knee and jump!"
Of ownership plans, Mulholland added: "I have owners who are looking for horses but I like to get them back home first. He could be a dual purpose horse so just need to work out who he will suit. I am just delighted to be brining him home."
(10:59)
Lot 46:
Franklin William, the well-bred three-year-old son of Frankel, is heading to Qatar, bought by Jason Singh on behalf of owner Abdulatif Hussain Al-Emadi, who was giving instructions on the telephone. The colt cost his new owner 45,000gns, and the underbidders included Alan King who was standing with Anthony Bromley of Highflyer Bloodstock.
"He will stay in the UK for a short while before shipping, it is hot in Qatar at the moment," said Singh.
The three-year-old colt is rated 67 and ran to a seventh place at Yarmouth on April 19, having lost his near-fore shoe. He finished fourth at Southwell over a mile at the beginning of the month.
He is out of the dual Group 3 winner and Group 1 Cheveley Park-placed mare Kiyoshi (Dubawi).
Franklin William was sold by Jamie Railton on behalf of owner Qatar Racing Ltd, having been trained by Andrew Balding.

Chairman’s Statement:
At the conclusion of the 2022 Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony commented:
“The fact that the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up has produced the winners of both of this week's premier Classic trials, Cachet and the unbeaten champion Native Trail, is a powerful endorsement of our premier Breeze Up Sale and the competition for the two-year-olds over the past two evenings has reflected the sale’s reputation for consistently delivering two-year-olds of the very highest calibre.
“The array of lucrative Tattersalls bonuses on offer for all Craven Breeze Up purchases continues to attract owners and trainers in all sectors of the market and the domestic buyers have faced stiff opposition from a diverse crowd of overseas buyers, all of whom have contributed to a Craven Breeze Up Sale, which has posted gains in the key metrics of average, median and turnover, albeit with a clearance rate which has not matched last year’s record level.
"In addition to the strong overseas contingent from America, Bahrain, Dubai, France, Italy, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, we have had live internet bidders registered from Hong Kong and Japan and the global profile of the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up continues to rise.
“As ever there have been some outstanding pinhooking triumphs, all of which reflect the professionalism of the consignors whose support of the Craven Breeze Up is key to its success. As an unbeaten European champion, Native Trail may be a hard act to follow, but we look forward to rewarding even more owners with lucrative £15,000 Craven Breeze Up Bonuses and hopefully to another winner of either of the substantial Royal Ascot and Group 1 bonuses.
"In the meantime there are plenty more quality two-year-olds on offer at the forthcoming Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up and Horses in Training Sale and we look forward to sustaining the momentum from a successful Craven Breeze Up.”

the 2022 Craven Sale's leading buyer Peter & Ross Doyle Bloodstock goes to 300,000gns for this son of leading sire Kingman.
Ross Doyle said: "He is a real good physical for that type of stallion, very straightforward, a good mover, he breezed well and is probably a 7f-miler type of horse. He has a good pedigree. He have been lucky buying off Sarah and Mick from Longways, we bought Witch Hunter last year."
Doyle signed in association with Omni Horse, and Doyle explained: "It is a new syndicate, Kia [Joorabchian] from Amo Racing is involved, hopefully it will be exciting. I am not sure of training plans for this horse."
The father and son buying team (two bought with Omni Horse) is the Craven Sale 2022 leading buyer having bought seven horses for a spend of 1,330,000gns, an average price of 190,000gns.
Doyle said: "We were not planning on buying so many. We are surprised and very happy, I did not think we'd buy that sort of number, it has worked out well. We are very lucky that we have some very good clients supporting us."
It is the busiest the Doyles have been at this sale for a number of years.

the War Front filly offered by Grove Stud is bought by Satish Seemar for 220,000gns, a fourth purchase this week by the Dubai-based trainer.
The filly was purchased as a yearling by Grove for $170,000 last year and she is out of the Grade 1 winner Dancing Rags (Union Rags), who is a daughter of the Grade 3-placed Home Court (Storm Cat) and a grand-daughter of Jewel Princess, a champion older mare in the US in 1996, the winner of 13 races, including four Grade 1s.

Lot 121:
the daughter of Zoustar is bought by racehorse owner and breeder Bill Gredley, who is based at near-at-hand Stetchworth House Stud. The filly, who is out of the Listed-placed Oasis Dream mare Cordial, cost her new owner 270,000gns. The purchase was signed under the banner of Stetchworth And Middle Park Studs.
"I was underbidder on Lot
116 [Dark Angel ex Clem Fandango], but I like this filly, a lot of people liked her, she was a lot of money but if you want something good you have to pay a lot of money," said Gredley.
"We have the stud, so we will race her and if she gets to the track and wins," he added when asked if the filly will be a breeding prospect further down the line.
"I don't often buy at breezes, but we took a look at her and she has a nice personality, I like nice people with nice personalities! I don't know yet who will train her, I will have a chat with my son [Tim], he is showjumping in Spain, jumping horses and buying horses.
"It is really exciting, and I can name her!"
She was bought as a yearling for 70,000gns by MC Bloodstock from Galloway Stud at the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale. She is a half-sister to two winners, and is another from a Juddmonte-developed pedigree – her granddam is Mirabilis, the dam of Monarchs Glen and a half-sister to the two-time French Group 1 winner Nebraska Tornado.

Lot 114:
is going to race in Saudi Arabia having been bought by Najd Stud, the farm's representative Saud Al Qahtani sat with bloodstock agent Peter Doyle.
"He is a lovely horse, a very nice horse, a very sound horse, Stuart Boman was bidding on him for Hong Kong and he would have had to pass everything for them to be interested," said Doyle. "He is an American-bred and American horses suit the surface out there. We were not sure what to expect as regards price in the ring."
It is the first time the stud has bought at a breeze-up sale in Britain.
Al Qahtani explained: "The Craven Sale is a good sale and it has produced the best three-year-old and champion in Native Trail, that encouraged us to come over. This horse will be aimed for the Saudi Derby."
By American Pharoah, bought as a yearling by Mags O'Toole for $57,000, the February-born colt was sold today by Lynn Lodge Stud. He hails from the Juddmonte pedigree of Timepiece and Passage Of Time being out of the young Oasis Dream mare Circulation, a half-sister to the champion older horse and multiple Group 1 winner Twice Over.

"She is a lovely filly, she did a very fast breeze, she is a lovely physical with a great pedigree. She ticks all the boxes and hopefully she will make up into a Royal Ascot filly. She looks fast and Royal Ascot will be the hope. She has been bought for Amo Racing, who are new to the yard this year."
Bred by Tally-Ho Stud, the filly is out of the Listed-placed Fasliyev mare Yajala, dam of the Listed-winning, Group 3-placed Evil Spell and the Jersey Stakes G3) runner-up Society Power. It is the extended family of the sprinter Mind Games.

"He looks a real two-year-old and Sioux Nation has had a winner."

Lot 81A:
the wildcard entry and the last in tonight fetches 400,000gns, bought by Peter & Ross Doyle. By Zoustar, she is out of Saccharose (Exceed And Excel) the winner of one race at three in France. The two-year-old filly was sold by Aguiar Bloodstock.
"She is outstanding, I have not seen a filly like that for a long time," said Ross Doyle. "She is an unbelievable individual, she breezed well, she comes from a very good home and came highly recommended. She is for a new client."
Explaining why this filly was such a stand-out, Doyle said: "She is just a bit different, you don't see many like that and physically she stands up as a very good specimen. She has a lovely big ear, an honest head, everything is in the right place and she takes everything very easy."
Of Zoustar, whose first northern-hemisphere crop are two-year-olds of this year, he said: "We have one of two at Richard's that he likes, and he is obviously a sire sensation Down Under. "
Underbidder was Tweenhills Stud's David Redvers, who has stood the son of Northern Meteor in his four seasons at stud in Britain.
The filly was bought by Midland Equine last August for €75,000 from Ecurie des Monceaux.

Lot 65:
the Mehmas half-sister to last year's Phoenix Stakes (G1) winner Ebro River (Galileo Gold) is bought by Peter and Ross Doyle for 300,000gns.
"Mehmas again!" smiled Ross Doyle. "He has been very good to a lot of people, including ourselves and the Hannons – we bought him as a breeze-up horse here. He has done magnificently well at Tally-Ho as a stallion – we are huge fans and Richard Hannon is a massive fan!"
Of the filly, he said: "She looks like she would do what it says on the tin, hopefully, she is a real two-year-old and has a very good pedigree. She comes from one of the best homes in the game, there are a huge amount of positives. There is a lot of speed in the pedigree with Slade Power there, too, hopefully she has got a lot going for her.
"She is for an existing client, the long term the plan is to breed from her if she can go as quick as she looks! Hopefully she can get some black-type on the way."
Dam Soft Power won at three and is a half-sister to the dam of the champion older sprinter Slade Power. Ebro River, a 75,000gns October Book 2 yearling, is due to run tomorrow in the Group 3 Abernant Stakes.
Mehmas cost Peter & Ross Doyle Bloodstock 170,000gns at the 2016 Craven Breeze Up Sale, bought from Horse Park Stud.

Lot 47:
Johnny Collins of Brown Island Stables has headed twice to Germany on yearling purchasing missions.
"The last time I was there I bought three horses, including one called Khan, he went onto win the Preis von Europa (G1)," said Collins. "It is going to be hard to beat that, though Khan didn't make me any money!"
Last autumn he returned from Europe with this colt by Oasis Dream whom he sold today for 310,000gns to Godolphin having paid just €58,000.
Collins said: "He was a beautiful yearling with a great walk, he was of those I was surprised. that I got to buy him to be honest. He has been a lovely horse all the way through."
"He has shown us a lot of speed, but if you go through his pedigree he is probably bred to get a mile or a mile plus, I'll let Charlie Appleby be the judge of that!"
The colt's dam Queimada (Dansili) is a half-sister to Querari by Oasis Dream, a champion older horse in Germany in 2010 and a Group 1 winner. She is also a half-sister to the Grade 2 winner Quidura (Dubawi), the Group 3 winner Quasillo (Sea The Stars), and Sharja Bridge (Oasis Dream), winner of the Listed Doncaster Mile and placed in the Sandown Mile (G2).

(20:06)
Lot 39:
the colt by War Front, offered by Native Trail's consignor Oak Tree Farm, is fought over by Satish Seemar, sat in the gods, and bloodstock agent Ted Durcan, the latter emerging victorious at 425,000gns.
"He is from a marvellous stable, he is a smashing looking horse, smashing moving horse, vets are happy, he is going into training with Joseph Parr in Newmarket. He is a beautiful stamp of a horse, and he is for owner Oliver Harris who already has horses with Joseph," said Durcan. "The horse is fairly explanatory, he did smashing breeze. He is obvious and you have to pay for them. He does look more of a 7f horse."
Consignor Norman Williamson said: "I have to give Mark McStay a mention, I knew I'd had luck with War Of Will [also by War Front and breezed by Williamson] and he said 'Listen there is a War Front colt out here [the US] that has not been sold'.
"Tim Hyde Jnr went out to the farm and took videos and all the rest, so really without Mark we would not have got to him."
The colt went through the ring as a yearling not sold at $170,000, Mark McStay signing later at that price under the Avenue Bloodstock banner.
Williamson added: "He is a beautiful horse, he really is. Let's hope he is a race horse, but he is beautiful and his breeze was beautiful too. He has a fantastic action, we are delighted – let's hope he is a champion."
Williamson said that the colt has a definite likeness to War Of Will, winner of the Preakness Stakes (G1) and the Maker's Mark Mile Stakes (G1) and now at stud at Claiborne Farm for $25,000.
"He is very similar – action and attitude, he is always fresh and happy with life, which is interesting. If he is as good then we will be more than happy. he is very like him. Size and build-wise for a War Front he is very like him, big and strong and a lot of scope."
The colt's dam Pine Needles (Giant'Causeway) was Grade 3 placed and is a daughter of the Oaks d'Italia (G1) winner Meridiana (Lomitas), the dam of nine winners, including three black-type winners.

Lot 29:
is the first at this year's Craven Sale to sell for over 500,000gns, the Kodiac colt from Tally-Ho Stud fetching 525,000gns. The successful buyer was trainer David Loughnane, who was standing on the back wall, underbidder was Oliver St Lawrence on the stairwell. Loughnane signed for the horse under his own name and in association with OMNI Horse.
"I loved everything about him, he is a lovely animal, he is very well balanced, he did an exceptional breeze, the fastest breeze of the lot," said Loughnane. "He just looks an out and out Royal Ascot horse. He has a very good pedigree, his dam was a very good two-year-old for Mark Johnston. I love everything about him, he has a lot of quality and let's hope he can back up on the track, fingers crossed
Of ownership plans, Loughnane said: "He is for a new syndicate. I didn't think that we would have to go that far for him, I knew he was not going to be cheap, but thankfully I have some owners who are willing to back him. The sire has done it year in and year out and he comes from a very good farm in Tally-Ho Stud."
The colt is a homebred, the first foal out of the mare No Lippy, a six-year-old daughter of Oasis Dream. She was bought by Tally-Ho at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale in 2018 as a two-year-old for 20,000gns. Richard Brown goes to 225,000gns for this Night Of Thunder colt from Tally-Ho Stud. He is out of the Ghostzapper mare Letterfromamerica, the colt bought as a foal from Plantation Stud for €77,000 in 2020.
"We have a long and growing relationship with Tally-Ho Stud," said Richard Brown, whose star purchase from the farm last year was the dual Group 1-winning juvenile Perfect Power.
"This colt did a fabulous breeze, I loved all of it. Night Of Thunder is a proper sire and on the way to an even higher profile. I do not have a client as such for him, but I am sure plenty who will want to train a colt like this!"
