Lot 421: the first foal out of the Fred Darling Stakes (G3) and Oak Tree Stakes (G3) winner J Wonder is bought by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock for 850,000gns. By Dubawi, he was bred by US businessman Andrew Rosen, who has five mares boarding at Watership Down and another 20 in the US.
J Wonder was purchased in the US by agent Hugo Merry on behalf of Rosen.
"Andrew has been a long-standing client and I am delighted," said Merry. "Hopefully, the mare will get off to a great start now.
"This yearling had a paddock accident and scaped a back leg and so missed some of his prep. He has done very well to get here."
The mare had a filly foal this year by Galileo and is back in foal to Dubawi. Rosen usually races his fillies and sells his colts. (14:44)
Lot 394: "That's our best ever result!" smiled Nicholas Jones of Coln Valley Stud after selling the Showcasing half-brother to the Musidora Stakes (G2) winner Give And Take (Cityscape) for 600,000gns to Stroud Coleman Bloodstock.
"Our previous best was the Havana Gold half-brother who sold last year for 250,000gns to Shadwell.
"This was our only Book 1 lot, and I have been saying all week that he is a lovely colt and we should keep him! Ian [Emes], my stud manager, kept telling me he wanted a new tractor!"
Jones purchased the grand-dam Gryada in 2006 here on the basis of her foal of that year – that was none other than subsequent 14-time and multiple Group 1 winner, Fame And Glory.
There are now three daughters at Coln Valley - this dam Grace And Glory, Grace And Favour, as well as Great And Small. They are in-foal to stallions such as Kingman and Dubawi - as Jones says "we are getting very grown up now!"
Jones added: "Ian does all the foaling and the sales preparation so it is all credit to him."
Grace And Favour had a Dansili filly this year and was covered by Havana Gold this spring. (13:30)
Lot 389: "We thought we'd brought our strongest draft here," said Julian Dollar of Newsells Park after the Dubawi ex Giants Play filly was bought for 1,200,000gns by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock.
"It is both humbling and gratifying that the purchasers have felt the same. It is a reflection of the great job done by the team at home."
She was the third million+ guineas lot sold this week by the farm, whose 13 sold so far are averaging 688,077gns. (13:05)
Lot 385: "We've bought at last!" smiled Amanda Skiffington after spending 600,000gns on the Invincible Spirit colt from Ballylinch Stud, a son of the Group 2 placed Galvaun, a half-sister to the dual Grade 1 winner Red Rocks.
"He is for Fiona Carmichael and, as he is one of our favourites on our list, we are pleased. Trade was very strong yesterday." (12:51)
Lot 371: the Galileo half-brother to the champion 130-rated Golden Horn is bought by Stephen Hillen and Kevin Ryan on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed Obaid for 450,000gns. He was sold by Norelands Stud
"I thought he'd make more," said Hillen. "He is a solid-looking type who takes his work, but is a nice horse and by Galileo!"
Obaid bought the Ryan-trained Emaraaty Ana after the son of Shamardal won the Gimcrack Stakes (G2). He has subsequently finished fifth in the Middle Park Stakes (G1). (12:16)
Lot 362: the full-brother to Glorious Journey, the Book 1 sale topper of 2016 when selling for 2,600,000gns, is bought by Greg Chung on behalf of a new Hong Kong-based client.
"He has had horses aboard and this is first foray into higher level ownership," said Chung. "He is a friend of Frankie Dettori's so we can probably guess where the horse will go into training." (12:06)
Lot 355: Siyouni, the dam of this year's super star filly Laurens, is currently averaging 187,667gns for 15 lots sold.
This colt from Hillwood Stud, and out of a half-sister to the Classic winner Ervedya is equally well-received and fetches 425,000gns, bought by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock. (12:03)
Lot 350: the Sea The Stars colt offered by Haras du Mezeray sells for 900,000gns, bought by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock.
"This colt was not forward enough for the August sale in France, and he has done very well through the summer," reported Charles de Moussac when explaining why the French-based stud has brought this colt to sell in Book 1. "We bought over a draft last year and we have some to sell in Book 2 next week also - we are looking to spread the risk a little. We have had a very good trip over!
"We bought the mare for our client for €300,000 and the first foal has been retained.
"We are very pleased with that result - any time you sell a horse you have to be happy, and when you are fetching in excess of €400,000 for a horse you have to be very pleased!" (11:25)
Lot 350: the Sea The Stars colt offered by Haras du Mezeray sells for 900,000gns, bought by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock.
"This colt was not forward enough for the August sale in France, and he has done very well through the summer," reported Charles Henri de Moussac when explaining why the French-based stud has brought this colt to sell in Book 1. "We bought over a draft last year and we have some to sell in Book 2 next week also - we are looking to spread the risk a little. We have had a very good trip over!

Lot 325: a packed sale ring greeted the Dubawi colt, the half-brother to Too Darn Hot, the impressive winner of this year's Champagne Stakes (G2), the pair out of the wonderful broodmare and Group 1 winner Dar Re Mi (Singspiel).
The bidding opened up at 500,000gns and then rained in from all angles - Sheikh Abdullah Almalek Alsabah bid up to a million, Angus Gold of Shadwell was involved as well as Mitsu Nakauchida from Japan, but it was David Redvers, standing at the top of the stairs, who stepped in at 3,200,000gns. He was the successful purchaser at 3,500,000gns after Gold shook his head when offered to extend the bidding.
"This is the sort of horse that Sheikh Fahad and his brothers want to own - they want to participate at the highest level and have had a taste of it this year with Roaring Lion," said Redvers. "The colt is out of an exceptional mare and by an exception stallion. It is very hard to put a value on horse such as this – you can see lovely horses selling for good money and yet they still are not the best.
"We are looking to make commercial stallions - let's hope that he goes out and lives up to all the potential that he has. He could look a cheap buy in future.
"I think you can guess where he will go into training."
The colt was bred and sold by Lord and Lady Lloyd-Webber's Watership Down Stud, and Madeleine Lloyd-Webber was ringside to witness the sale.
"We are so very lucky to have a mare such as Dar Re Mi, who is breeding horses who are put together with such perfection," she smiled. "This horse is very similar to Too Darn Hot, a little more mature if anything.
"The farm's policy is to sell the colts and keep the fillies - we were unable to sell Too Darn Hot last year, in the end thank god - but we kept to the overall plan. It has been a nerve-wracking six months, but Terry [Doherty, stud manager] has produced him brilliantly, he looked amazing. The colt has dealt with everything here without issue, all of the mare's offspring are so straightforward."
Summing up, Lloyd-Webber said: "Let's hope that the mare can produce a Group 1 winner now - and yes we have a fabulous chance on Saturday and over the next two weeks, but she didn't win her own first Group 1 until she was four.
"I saw Lar Ti Dar this morning - she looks as though she will be a stronger filly again next year as a four-year-old too.
"Watching that sale was a little like an opening night with all the critics in; in fact, it is all very much like show business!"
The colt is the most expensive yearling sold in the world this year, and the fifth most expensive ever sold in Book 1.
Too Darn Hot, Timeform rated 121p, is due to run in the Dewhurst Stakes (G1) this weekend, while Lar Ti Dar is entered in the British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes (G1) on October 20. (18:05)
Lot 316: a third purchase this week for Phoenix Thoroughbreds, the buyer going to 650,000gns for a chestnut son of Showcasing.
The colt is out of the Listed winner and Group 3 placed Crystal Girl (Galileo), already the dam of the Listed placed Galmarley from two runners.
The colt was consigned by WH Bloodstock, and bred by Mr and Mrs Pakenham. (17:22)
Lot 299: Longview Stud brought two lots to sell in Book 1, the farm walks away with both sold for an aggregate of 1,800,000gns.
This colt by Sea The Stars was a 330,000gns pinhook from Dromoland Farm and sold here today for 1,000,000gns.
Diego Romeo, the manager of Longview, said: "It was a pricey pinhook, but he is a gorgeous colt and we've loved him from the beginning.
"Everything has gone to plan with him and he is very straightforward. Sea The Stars is a fantastic sire - we are very happy."
Stroud Coleman Bloodstock was the successful purchaser. (16:56)
Lot 298: the full-sister to the St Leger winner Kew Gardens sells for 1,200,000gns. She is bought by MV Magnier from Barronstown Stud.
Kew Gardens finished seventh in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at the weekend and has an entry in the Qipco British Champions Long Distance Cup (G2). (16:45)
Lot 295: the full-brother to the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint winner Bobby's Kitten, the Grade 2 winner Camelot Kitten sells for 700,000gns.
The siblings are all by Kitten's Joy, the sire of this year's star horse Roaring Lion. (16:40)
Lot 276: "She will be trained in France," said agent Robert Nataf after purchasing the Galileo filly out of Brooklyn's Storm for 1,000,000gns. The Storm Cat mare is the dam of the Group 3 winner Pollara (Camelot), and the Listed winner Stormina (Gulch), herself dam of the dual Group 1 winner and champion two-year-old, Silasol.
"My client was wanting a racing and then a broodmare prospect - this is a huge pedigree and this filly has a lot of residual value" added Nataf.
The Group race performers under the second dam Brooklyn's Dance include Solemia, Prospect Wells, Prospect Park, Brooklyn's Gold, The Gurkha, Soustraction and Savile Row. (15:58)
Lot 266: there were just two lots catalogued by leading French sire Le Havre this week and the second of them, the filly offered by Norelands Stud, makes 850,000gns. She is the most expensive Le Havre yearling sold at Tattersalls to date.
She was bought by Tom Goff, who was bidding alongside John Gosden. He said: "She is a gorgeous filly, full of class and quality. She is from a great farm in Norelands and is a half-sister to a very tough horse in Home Of The Brave; we loved her from the get-go."
Home Of The Brave was Group 2 placed in Europe for trainer Hugo Palmer. He was owned ininitally by Flemington Bloodstock Partnership and was bought by Godolphin in the spring of 2016.
The son of Starspangledbanner transferred to James Cummings's Australian yard last winter. (15:28)
Lot 257: John Gosden Racing LLP buys a first lot at the 2018 Book 1 sale - and goes to 600,000gns for the Highclere Stud-offered Kingman colt out of Night Frolic (Nayef).
He is the third foal out of the mare, a half-sister to the Group 2 winners Bonfire and Joviality. Last year's yearling, a filly by Invincible Spirit, was bought by Shadwell for 650,000gns. She has been named Tatweej and is in training with Owen Burrows. (15:16)
Lot 255: the Giant's Causeway mare Bastet, the dam of the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches (G1) winner Beauty Parlour, was bought privately from the Wildenstein dispersal.
That purchasing foresight proved to be spot on today – the mare's first foal sold since the transfer of ownership, a filly by Dubawi, fetched 800,000gns, bought by Stroud Coleman.
A half-sister to the great Australian multiple Group 1 winner Might And Power, Bastet, who was a Listed winner, Group 3 placed and rated 103, had another filly by Dubawi this year. All her six runners so far are winners. (14:56)
Lot 245: the Golden Horn colt out of Astonishing, sold by Rathbarry, becomes the most expensive yearling sold so far by the young sire when fetching 550,000gns. He was bought by BBA Ireland's Patrick Cooper and goes into training with Jessica Harrington.
He was bred by Apple Tree Stud, and Robert Thornton of the farm said: "Rathbarry bought the foal off us privately last autumn. It is great - everyone has made money!
"We have a Showcasing colt foal and he will be coming to the foal sales. She was then rested this spring."
Apple Tree, through agent Federico Barberini, bought the mare here at the December Sale in 2015 for 360,000gns.
Rathbarry's purchase was in association with Howson & Houldsworth. (14:25)
Lot 231: the Kodiac colt out of Anthem Alexander, the winner of the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes and a half-sister to the sire Dandy Man, is bought by Stroud Coleman from breeder Mountarmstrong Stud for 600,000gns.
He is the mare's first foal and she was covered this year by Dark Angel. (13:57)
Lot 217: the Galileo colt out of Alluring Park, the half-sister to the champion New Approach (Galileo), is bought by MV Magnier for 1,300,000gns. He was sold by Lodge Park Stud.
"I have to thank everyone at home," said Damien Burns of Lodge Park. "There is a lot of work involved and there are many don't come to the sales. This colt was prepped by my brother Jamie."
Alluring Park is the dam of Was (Galileo), the Epsom Oaks (G1) winner, the Group 3 winner Douglas Macarthur (Galileo), the Listed winner Janood (Medicean) and Al Naamah (Galileo), who was sold in 2013 at Tattersalls for a European auction yearling record at 5,000,000gns.
"The mare did not have a foal this year," reported Burns. "She is in-foal to Dark Angel, which is a slightly differing approach but if you strip the pedigree back Alluring Park is a daughter of Green Desert and is out of Park Express - a champion two-year-old and by Ahonoora." (13:29)
Lot 202: the mare Yummy Mummy (Montjeu), who has had success in the Tattersalls sale ring before with sales of 870,000gns (Gumriyah), 725,000gns (Smoulder) and 350,000gns (Legatissimo), gets her highest-priced yearling to date today when her Dubawi bay colt fetches 1,200,000gns.
The colt was sold by Newsells Park Stud, which is currently averaging 820,000gns for eight lots sold and is leading consignor (more than two horses sold) by average and aggregate so far. (12:38)
Lot 198: the Galileo filly bred by John Gunther and sold by Newsells Park Stud is bought by MV Magnier for 900,000gns.
The filly was a May foal and out of the 2001-born homebred mare Wildwood Flower (Langfuhr). She was originally based in the US, but transferred to Europe in 2014, producing a 2015 Intello filly called Blossom Special. Since then the mare has only visited Galileo (had a colt foal this year) and this sale is by a long way her best result in the sale ring.
On the track Wildwood Flower has produced five winners from five runners, including Materiality (Afleet Alex), winner of the Florida Derby (G1), and My Miss Sophia (Unbridled's Song), a runner-up in the Kentucky Oaks (G1). (12:27)
Lot 189: "I have to be daring once in my life" smiled Patricia Thompson of Cheveley Park Stud after spending 1,200,000gns on the daughter of Galileo and Wannabe Grand, sold by Churchtown House Stud. "We just loved everything about her."
Chris Richardson, the stud's manager, added: "There are not many opportunities to buy Galileo fillies and he is such a phenomenal sire. This is such a strong pedigree, we are delighted to have bought her."
The filly is out of the Group 3 winner Wannabe Better, the dam of one foal of racing age so far, and the three-quarters sister to Wannabe Grand, the winner of the Cheveley Park Stakes (G1).
Underbidders included Tom Goffs and Hubie de Burgh. (11:57)
Lot 178: the six lots sold on day one by new sire Muhaarar averaged 294,167gns, and the trend looks set to continue - MV Magnier going to 350,000gns for the Pier House-consigned colt out of Vanishing Grey (Verglas), the half-sister to the dual Group 1 sprinter Kingsgate Native.
The Shadwell sire's top lot yesterday was the half-sister to Fairyland, who sold for 925,000gns and was bought by Shadwell from Tally-Ho Stud. (11:20)
We start selling in 15 mins... follow all the action on what is going to be a hot day both in the sales ring and out and about – record October temperatures predicted! (10:41)
Lot 176: the five lots bought yesterday by US trainer Chad Brown via Klaravich Stables have already made up to six - the team going to 300,000gns for the Kingman ex Urban Castle sold by Highclere Stud. (10:30)

Lot 162: the Dubawi filly out of Time Control, dam of the Moyglare Stakes winner Cursory Glance, makes 700,000gns and was another Stroud Coleman purchase. She is from the long-developed pedigree of Time Charter. (19:01)
Lot 157: the Galileo colt out of the good two-year-old Terror, a Kodiac daughter who finished fourth in the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes for trainer David Simcock, is bought by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock for 900,000gns.
"He is a lovely, athletic and racy colt," said Stroud. "Galileo has had success with these faster mares."
She was sold after her racing career to Gatewood Bell at the December Mare Sale 2015 for 300,000gns. (18:30)
Lot 121: Peter Brant's White Birch Farm spends 500,000gns on Lofts Hall Stud's Kingman filly, a grand-daughter of the Listed winner Miss Pinkerton, a great grand-daughter of the Coronation Stakes (G1) winner Rebecca Sharp and from the family of Golden Horn. (17:17)
Lot 112: will have to be the pinhook result of the sale - the Kingman colt offered by Kilminfoyle Stud sold for 1,050,000gns having been purchased here as a foal last December by Michael Fitzpatrick's JC Bloodstock for 135,000gns.
"As a foal he had a really good walk, he was a good physical and I bought him from Giles Wates of Langton Stud," said Fitzpatrick recalling his purchasing decisions, and, who unsurprisingly, was a little emotional after today's sale.
"It was a lot of money to give for a foal, and it was our last bid, but it has worked out and I am so pleased for my staff, Pamela and Santos - I have to thank them.
"I have had pinhooks sell for 475,000gns, but not had one top the half a million - and then this guy sells for over a million!"
The colt joined the four other MV Magnier purchases made so far today.
The colt's dam Shemya, the winner of one and rated 82, was purchased by Blandford Bloodstock for €160,000 in 2014. The Kingman colt is her second foal, and she had a Lope De Vega colt this spring and was covered by Postponed. (16:40)
Lot 109: a vibrant half an hour's trade sees Lot 109 sell for 3,400,000gns, the most expensive yearling sold in the world this year, and two further million+ lots, one of which was a stunning pinhook sale.
As described by the auctioneer Ollie Fowlston, Shastye (Lot 109) is a mare who "never misses" and ahead of today's sale she had already had three yearlings sell in the Tattersalls sale ring each fetching over a million, with a top price of 3,600,000gns given for Sir Isaac Newton. Last year, Newsells Park sold her promising juvenile Japan, a full-brother to today's yearling and recent winner of the Beresford Stakes (G2).
Julian Dollar of Newsells Park Stud said: "She is a wonderful mare and the pedigree says it all, but timing is everything and Japan's Beresford win two weeks ago just revitalised everything and brought back some interest and vibrancy to the pedigree.
"This is a lovely colt, and has always been a lovely horse, though maybe not as pretty as Sir Isaac Newton, he is strong and athletic. I think that Aidan believes he did not get it quite right with Sir Isaac, so Coolmore was happy to come back again - I also know that Ballydoyle holds Japan in high regard.
"I have to thank everyone at home – yearling manager Gerry [Meehan] and his team have done a fabulous job, the whole draft looks superb and this horse was in top order. They have all been a really happy team to work with this autumn."
Mitsu Nakauchida, a racehorse trainer in Japan, was underbidder and throughout the bidding kept checking the bidders' board and the exchange rate table, but eventually he had to shake his head, leaving Team Coolmore the victorious party.
MV Magnier said: "His two-year-old brother Japan is a very nice colt, whom we think a lot of, while Andreas Jacobs's Newsells Park is a fabulous breeding operation." (16:28)
Lot 103: called "the sister to a future champion" by the auctioneer the No Nay Never own-sister to the Group 1 Middle Park winner Ten Sovereigns is bought by M V Magnier for 600,000gns.
She is the fourth foal out of Seeking Solace (Exceed And Excel), a 101-rated French Listed runner-up. The mare's previous foals were by Halling and High Chaparral, but since producing the Group 1-winning colt she has only visited No Nay Never (Scat Daddy).
Ten Sovereigns remains in the field for this weekend's Group 1 7f Darley Dewhurst Stakes yesterday. (15:43)
Lot 93: the son of New Approach, sire of this year's Derby winner Masar, sells for 425,000gns, bought by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock.
The February colt is a half-brother to the dual 2,000 Guineas runner-up Dubawi Gold and was bred and sold by Lodge Park Stud. (15:14)
Lot 76 and Lot 80: the Hong Kong Jockey Club makes its first Tattersalls October yearling purchases of 2018.
The organisation goes to 260,000gns for a colt by Fastnet Rock, a half-brother to the Group 3 placed Asking, from the family of Rock Of Gibraltar and offered by The Castlebridge Consignment, and 200,000gns for an Exceed And Excel colt sold by Jame Railton. (15:01)
Lot 72: Mount Coote Stud's good day continues...
After selling Lot 19, the Dubawi ex Odeliz colt for 600,000gns to Stroud Coleman Bloodstock, the farm's second lot in the ring, a colt by Kingman and a half-brother to the Group 2 winner Hero Look, fetches 425,000gns. He is bought by SackvilleDonald, a regular buyer for King Power Racing. (14:29)
Lot 58: last year Fairyland became Kodiac's highest-priced yearling ever sold at auction when fetching 925,000gns bought by MV Magnier. She has gone on to win the Cheveley Park Stakes (G1).
This year her half-sister by Muhaarar fulfills the same role for her sire when fetching the exact same amount in the ring, bought by Shadwell.
"It is a happening family," said Angus Gold of Shadwell. "I loved Fairyland last year and thought she was the nicest yearling I saw - I am afraid I was a bit of a 'tepid' bidder on her.
"We obviously know Muhaarar well - we have some nice yearlings by him at home and we are very excited by him as he was fast, talented and straightforward. He is our chance to get a Green Desert." (13:50)
Lot 41: the Galileo colt out of Posset and sold by Newsells Park Stud on behalf of breeder Sahara Group Holdings makes 1,1000,000gns, successful purchaser being Stroud Coleman Bloodstock.
Posset, bred by Juddmonte and a full-sister to the champion Midday, was purchased by US breeder John Gunther, of Justify and Without Parole fame, for 625,000gns at the Tattersalls December Sale in 2014.
Midday's own Galileo foal Midterm is the Group 3 winner of the Classic Trial.
Gunther's daughter Tanya said: "The mare has a Frankel colt foal and is in-foal to him. We used Galileo because he is the best stallion in the world – we probably should go to Dubawi next! It has all worked out well today."
Of Without Parole's upcoming options, she said, while looking to the sky: "If he runs again this season will depend on the weather. I hope he will stay in training as a four-year-old, I think he has some more developing to do." (13:06)
Lot 28: the Galileo filly out of Penchant and a half-sister to the Group 1 Prix Maurice de Gheest winner Garswood, becomes this week's first lot to fetch seven figures, Narvick International going to 1,200,000gns.
"She is gorgeous, she is by Galileo and as a half-sister to a Group 1 winner, she has been bought as a breeding prospect," said Emmanuel de Seroux. "There are no plans as yet, but there is a chance she could stay to race in Europe."
The pedigree is very active: her two-year-old full-sister Zagitova, bought in the ring here last year for 1,600,000gns by MV Magnier, has finished third Debutante Stakes (G2) and fourth in the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes, since the catalogue was published. She is rated 102. (12:22)
Lot 22: becomes the most expensive yearling sold at Tattersalls and the second-highest priced yearling sold so far by leading first-season sire No Nay Never – Shawn Dugan spending 525,000gns on the filly out of Opera Fan.
She was sold by Camas Park Stud, which is due to offer the full-sister to Ten Sovereigns, the Middle Park (G1) winner by No Nay Never, later today (Lot 103). (12:08)
Lot 19: the first foal out Odeliz, the Falco dual Group 1 winner of the Prix Jean Romanet and the Premio Lydia Tesio, fetches 600,000gns, bought by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock.
By Dubawi, he was sold by Mount Coote Stud and the farm's Luke Lillingston said: "He was an absolute magnificent specimen. The mare was bought by Michael Baum and Reiko Baum at the December Sale in a private deal.
"The mare resides in Kentucky, and this yearling came to me in July. He has prepped himself, I really did not have to do anything. Let's hope he is lucky for new connections." (12:03)
Lot 14: the first by the champion two-year-old and champion three-year-old miler Gleneagles makes 190,000gns.
He is a half-brother to Beyond Reason, the winner of three races this year, including the Prix du Calvados (G2) and £111,218 was sold by Clare Castle Stud for Paget Bloodstock. (11:45)
