Lot 470:
Jamie Lloyd smiling under his face mask was delighted with his purchase of Whisper Not, a colt by Poet's Voice from the Richard Hannon East Everleigh Stables draft.
"He is for Chris Dunn for whom we bought Lady Prancealot, so he will be going to the US," said Lloyd having signed as Meah / Lloyd Bloodstock. "This horse has got a lot of pace, and is lightly raced – Richard Hannon said there is some more improvement to come. We have not finalised plans in the US yet – west coast or east coast, probably west – but he will come back to the farm first."
The colt has won his last two starts in the process taking his rating from 63 to 89, and Lloyds aded: "He won that first race by 20l on a slow track [Pontefract] and then won again on the faster track at Lingfield. I think he could drop back to a mile in the US."
Owned in training at East Everleigh by owner Michael Pescod, the colt was bought by Peter & Ross Doyle Bloodstock for €20,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland September Sale in 2018.
(16:50)

"He is good-looking horse with some ability," said Houldsworth. "He is for a client based in Ireland."
Formerly owned by Sun Bloodstock, King'sVow was bred by Famille Niarchos. He is out of the Listed placed Seven Magicians (Silver Hawk), a winner and Listed placed. (12:59)
Lot 345:
Desert Highway from the Moyglare Stud Farm draft makes 82,000gns. There were bids for the Dubawi three-year-old colt from all around the sale ring, but Al Ghazali Stable was the successful buyer.
The colt has run three times and last time out finished second over 1m4f for trainer Dermot Weld.
He is out of the Ribblesdale Stakes (G2) winner Irresistible Jewel (Danehill) and is a half-brother to the Irish St Leger (G1) winner Royal Diamond, Princess Highway, like her mother a winner of the Ribblesdale Stakes, and Mad About, winner of the Gladness Stakes (G3) and a runner-up in the Irish 1,000 Guineas (G1) and the Pretty Polly Stakes (G1).
(12:17)
Lot 332:
Swindler, who was fourth last time out in the Stewards' Cup, is bought by Fawzi Nass whose agent and racing manager Oliver St Lawrence was responsible for bidding. The gelding by Invincible Spirit cost his new connections 150,000gns, with Steve Hillen the underbidder.
"He is to go to Bahrain, that will be his base," said Nass. "He is a very talented horse, he goes on fast ground and can sit off the pace. There might be a race for him on our international day, but he could make up to be good enough to go to Dubai or Saudi."
Swindler was previously owned and bred by Bjorn Nielsen and trained by Ed Walker. The four-year-old is rated 97, and has won twice his last win coming at Ascot in 2019 over 6f and off a mark of 90. He can be a bit of a monkey to go to post and usually walks down to the start.
He has a current entry in the Ayr Gold Cup, but Nass said it is unlikely the option will be taken up.
(12:03)
Lot 287:
Al Ghazali Stable strikes early for Swagger, a Pearl Secret two-year-old colt offered by Beechdown Stables and trainer Clive Cox.

(11:02)
Lot 278:
Medal Winner, consigned by Jamie Railton on behalf of trainer Archie Watson, makes 57,000gns bought by trainer Ali Majeed Ali.
"He has been bought to go to Bahrain," said Ali. "He could be one for the international race day, maybe then go onto Dubai for the Carnival. He seems to like fast ground and a trip of 1m2f to 1m4f."
Medal Winner, a four-year-old grey gelding by Olympic Glory, is rated 95. He won a handicap at Newcastle in June off a mark of 90 and in four subsequent starts has run consistently well this summer.

Acclaim The Nation, a winner of a Class 2 handicap at York last week, is bought online for 42,000gns. There was plenty of action in the ring for the son of Acclamation, rated 93, but Nigel Spreadbury on the computer connection was the successful bidder.

Mick Appleby Racing goes to 38,000gns for King Of Stars, a Starspangledbanner three-year-old gelding from Carriganog Racing, Ireland (J. P. O'Brien).

(17:22)
Lot 210:
Will Douglass, on the telephone, was involved in the early skirmishes for Deliver The Dream, but the bidding action went online and became a digital battle. The winning bid from Debbie Mountain / Hassan Al Abdulmalik was successful at 50,000gns.
The juvenile colt by Kantharos was the winner of a maiden at Windsor at the end of June. He has since run in the Listed National Stakes at Sandown and in the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes for trainer Robert Cowell and owner Tom Morley. He has an official rating of 88.
He was consigned today by Jamie Railton as agent.
(16:54)
Lot 188:
owned by The Queen and trained by Michael Bell, the dual winner Cloud Drift makes 75,000gns, bought by Sheikh Isa Al Khalifa's Al Adiyat Racing via the online bidding platform.
Bell was at Park Paddocks to see the gelding sold and said: "He is an attractive horse who moves well and is sure to go on and for well for his new connections. He is relatively lightly raced and I am sure he will go on again."
Of this August Sale, Bell added: "I hope it stays. The July Sale can come up quite quickly in the season. The timing in August allows us to run horses at the summer Festivals – Royal Ascot, July meeting, Goodwood – and then sell ahead of the yearling sales , which helps owners know where their finances are if they wish to reinvest"
Sheikh Isa said: "I am excited to have purchased the horse with the target of running in a valuable 0-100 mile handicap on Bahrain International Cup day.
It is a day which also features the £500,000 Bahrain International for which entries are now open."
(16:38)
Lot 186:
Aweedram is bought by Kevin Frost Racing for 37,000gns with a view to going jumping.
"He has current form, has run well in some big handicaps, he looks like he will handle a bit of cut, and he has a good rating," said Frost. "We will crack on with him now and might even run him back on the Flat."
By Mukhadram, the gelding was in training with Alan King for whom he won twice from 13 starts. He is rated 86 and finished second on his last two runs – over a mile at Haydock and then Newbury.
(16:19)
Lot 162:
Sir Oliver, part of the Weathercock House Stables draft of trainer Richard Hughes, is in demand and the sprinting son of Dark Angel goes to Tim Hide for 50,000gns.
"He has been bought for Dr Johnny Hon," said Hide. "We will get him home and give him a bit of a break before getting him back in for an All-Weather campaign. He looks a fast horse, he has a very fast sister, and he should be better with some more time as a four-year-old."
Sir Oliver is a full-brother to the champion and ten-time winner Mecca's Angel, and to the Group 3 winner and young sire Markaz. He is rated 82 and the best of his form is over 5f.
(15:15)
Lot 151:
Chankaya (Dubawi), who has run three times on the Flat for Hugo Palmer, has a NH campaign ahead of him with first-season trainer Mitchell Hunt in Somerset.
"I hope to get my licence finalised in October,"said Hunt, who has recently been assistant to Richard Spencer and before that James Owen. "We will get this horse home, give him a bit of time and then get him ready to run over hurdles. He is a scopey sort and has been running over a trip already."
Chankaya cost 33,000gns and was signed fro by Kevin Morgan.
(14:53)
Lot 146:
Finely Tuned is making his way to race in Spain bought by Ted Durcan on behalf of owner Enrique Fernandez de Vega.
"He is a solid, hard-knocking, straight-forward sort of a horse," reported Durcan. " He should suit the programme there and think his new connections have their wye on a race in a bout a month's time."
Finely Tuned (Gleneagles) won last time out over1m4f at Ripon, successful off an official rating of 81 for the training duo of Simon and Ed Crisford. In his seven racecourse starts to date, the three-year-old gelding has not finished worse than fifth.
(14:36)
Lot 96:
Soldierpoy, third in the Weatherbys Super Sprint on his third start for trainer Tom Clover and owner The Shimplingthorne Syndicate, sells for 67,000gns bought by agent Will Douglass.
The Sepoy colt, now rated 79 and a winner of his second start, was bred by Chasemore Farm and was bought as a yearling by Jackson-Stops Bloodstock / Tom Clover for £7,000 at the Tattersalls Ascot Yearling Sale.
He is out of the Invincible Spirit mare Lamps Of Heaven and from the family of Flying Childers Stakes (G2) winner Land Of Dreams, dam of the joint-champion European two-year-old and three-year-old and five-time Group 1 winner Dream Ahead.
Douglass said: “He’s for Injaaz Stud [in Qatar]. This horse has rock-solid form, he’s been well presented and the trainer’s done a good job with him. He’s strong and sound, and should do a job for us.
“We tried to buy him a month ago and Happy Romance has won again since.
“This is a great time of year to have a sale of this type. It suits everyone buying for an overseas market. At present [in the Middle East] they are not racing because it is high summer, so we buy them, and then ship them over which gives them time to acclimatise before they restart racing in September.
“The July Sale which is a very good sale, but this suits us better and I hope they keep it.”
(13:25)
Lot 66:
Marco Bozzi Bloodstock spends 40,000gns on the two-year-old filly Altalune (Elzaam), who won at Catterick since the catalogue was printed for trainer Amy Murphy. Lot 51:
agent Peter Harper is successful at 58,000gns for Mzyoon, a Galileo mare sold by The Castlebridge Consignment. The seven-year-old mare was sold with an April 11 colt foal by Exceed And Excel at foot.
"She is for Sheikh Sabah Al Sabah," said Harper. "As a mare by Galileo she was hugely appealing. She will go to Derek Iceton at Tara Stud where all of the Sheikh's mares board. We think she was value at that price. We will decide on plans for this foal, in all likelihood he will be sold as a yearling."
Sheikh Sabah, a member of the Kuwait royal family, has a broodmare band of around eight at Tara Stud and horses in training with Roger Fell and George Scott. He enjoyed a recent success with three-year-old Showcasing filly The Flying Ginger, victorious at Chester on her racecourse debut.

Chairman’s Statement
At the conclusion of the 2020 Tattersalls July Sale, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony commented;
“For a bloodstock sale conducted under normal circumstances to register a clearance rate in excess of 95 per cent is quite an achievement. To do so in the current climate and with the prevailing Government travel regulations preventing so many regular buyers from attending this week’s sales is little short of phenomenal.
“There have been four COVID-affected sales, which have taken place at Tattersalls in the past three weeks and the clearance rate at every one of them has exceeded 80%. Not for a moment are we pretending that it has been plain sailing at all these sales, but they have all exceeded expectations and have all demonstrated an extraordinary resilience in the face of unprecedented challenges and an enduring appetite for British and Irish bloodstock at all levels of the market.
“Over the two days of the Tattersalls July Sale we have sold horses to buyers from nearly 20 different countries, most of whom have had to explore unconventional ways in which to participate at the sale.
"Our recently introduced live internet bidding platform has added a new dimension and has been consistently used by international buyers, with many others using the telephone bidding service provided by our team on the ground. While the catalogue may understandably have lacked a little of the usual quality and quantity, demand for horses in training and in particular well-bred fillies and mares has given some cause for encouragement in uncertain times. We must thank vendors and purchasers alike, all of whom have shown a determination to keep the wheels of the industry turning in the face of considerable adversity."

(16:34)
Lot 646:
trainer Karl Burke has just enjoyed a very decent half hour – at Newmarket racecourse his Dandy Man filly Dandalla won the Group 2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes, five minutes later Wonderwork, trained by him and owned by his wife Elaine, sold for 60,000gns to Dubai-based assistant trainer Alessandro Marconi for for Ahmed Bintooq.
"The horse was some very good form and Night Of Thunder is on fire," said Marconi, adding: "But he comes from a very good trainer so it will be difficult to match! This horse will stay here for a couple of months and then head to Dubai."
The three-year-old gelding won on his debut as a two-year-old. He has run three times this year and has won or placed on all three starts. His handicap mark is now 86.
(14:53)
Lot 635:
"Rangali Island is going to Saudi Arabia. He has good form up to 10f and he will have lots of options at home," said Ahmed Moubarak after going to 50,000gns for the Trillium Stables-offered four-year-old son of Camacho.
The Camacho colt, bred by Ballyhampshire Stud, is the winner of four races and has an official handicap rating of 87.
(14:25)
Lot 607:
the last-time-out winner Pawpaw from Clive Cox's Beechdown Stables is bought by Paul Webber Racing, Jimmy George from Tattersalls bidding on behalf of the trainer.
"Paul has been up here all week doing the hard yards, I have just stood here and waved!" smiled George after going to 62,000gns for the three-year-old son of Showcasing. "He should be a fun dual-purpose type for Paul."
Of this week's sale, George added: "Everyone has handled everything very well. It has not all been plain sailing, but we have to be adaptable through this time – everyone has worked hard to do that."
Of the state of the current bloodstock market, George added: "Every sale staged in the UK over the last three weeks has had a clearance rate of over 80 per cent, which has been fantastic."
Pawpaw, who is out of a half-sister to the Group 1 winner Lend A Hand, won over 1m2f in June at Lingfield, his fifth career start.
(14:03)
Lot 592:
Jim Boyle Racing sells Exec Chef for 40,000gns. The five-year-old chesnut gelding by Excelebration, a winner of three races and rated 87, was bought Peter and Ross Doyle at this sale in 2018 for 21,000gns.
Oliver St Lawrence is today's purchaser.
(13:26)
Lot 544:
"More Than A Prince is a lovely stamp of a horse, there looks to be more to come and he will stay in training in the UK," said buyer Ted Durcan. "He will probably benefit from a gelding operation, too."
The frustrated underbidder was trainer David Loughnane, looking to quickly fill the gap left in his stable by the earlier sale today of Ginger Fox.
More Than A Prince is a three-year-old colt (for now...) by Oasis Dream and was the winner of one race as a juvenile. This year he has run with credit in handicaps at Haydock and York over 7f and a mile.
He was in training with Richard Hannon and was owned and bred by Lady Bamford.
(12:31)
Lot 526:
Ginger Fox's trip to Tattersalls from Shropshire took in a run at Newmarket yesterday when the son of Iffraaj, a four-time winner, finished third in the 0-95 Each Way Extra At bet365 Handicap over a mile.
Today the four-year-old colt, trained by David Loughnane, showed himself off at Tattersalls. He attracted a number of interested parties, but the bidding developed into a battle between owner Sheikh Sultan and agent Matt Houldsworth. The pair duelled all the way through to the 52,000gns mark, and it was Houldsworth, sat under the window and taking instructions over the telephone, who ended up as the successful party.
"He is going to the Middle East," reported Houldsworth. "He is tough, nice honest and consistent horse. The buyer has been following the sale online and picked this horse out."
(12:03)
Lot 508:
Snifter is bought by Ajay Anne of the Dubai-based New Approach Bloodstock for 30,000gns, Anne giving telephone instructions to Jason Singh of Tattersalls.
The Elzaam colt has been racing in France for Eoghan O'Neill and has been placed fourth since the catalogue was published. He is rated 35.5 (BHA equiv 78) in France and is on his highest career mark.
A half-brother to the Group 2-placed Snippets (Be My Guest), and out of a half-sister to Pearly Shells, winner of the Prix Vermeille (G1), he is the winner of one race from eight starts.
(11:25)
Lot 471:
offered by Godolphin from Kingwood House Stables, the unraced Make Believe colt Jeddeyd is bought by Micheal Orlandi of Compas Equine for 43,000gns.
"He is for David Loughnane," said Orlandi. "He is bred to be a good horse, and the stallion is red hot at the moment. A lot of good buyers were on him."
Jeddeyd is a half-brother to the Group 3 winner Hamza (Amadeus Wolf) and out of an Alhaarth daughter of the Group 3 winner Lady Alexander. She is dam of the sire Dandy Man and the Commonwealth Cup (G1) placed Anthem Alexander.
(10:27)
