Lot 571: named after a French philosopher, author, and journalist, Arthur Camus (the equine version) is heading from the Newmarket yard of John and Thady Gosden to John McConnell's yard in Ireland. He cost his new trainer 115,000gns, who signed on behalf of Duleek Street Racing.
"The plan is to see if he can jump a hurdle," reported McConnell. "We don't expect to improve him from where we got him out of, but with that rating, if he can jump a hurdle, he should be a nice hurdler for people involved.
"He came highly recommended, the trip looks grand, he has not really encountered soft ground, but I think he will handle it. We have had a bit of luck with Teofilos before to go jumping.
"He seems to have very good attitude as well, he won really well at the line the other day [July 2nd], he looks as though there is more to come and he could be progressive. Well he is a progressive Flat horse, and that is what you have to pay for a three-year-old like this."
McConnell added of ownership plans: "I am not quite sure specifically who is for yet, we will get him back to Ireland, get him gelded and take it from there." (20:34)
Lot 557: Above, formerly in training with Archie Watson for Qatar Racing and sold today by Jamie Railton, makes 90,000gns.
The four-year-old gelding, who is rated 100 and has placed listed and Group 3 form, will now be trained by Stuart Williams, who was in charge of bidding today.
"The plan is to stay in Britain with him and try and win a big handicap," outlined Williams. "He is for existing clients, we'd like to try and win something like the Ayr Gold Cup, something like that.
"We are taking him from a different place and there is a chance that it brightens them up every now and again. We will crack on with him."
Above finished seventh last time out in the Wokingham Handicap at Royal Ascot, just four and a half lengths behind the race winner. (20:04)
Lot 555 and Lot 556: as always William Haggas's Somerville Lodge draft proves popular.
Owner Tom Morley goes to 75,000gns for Yazaman (Kodiac), a dual Group 2 runner-up as a two-year-old colt. Now a three-year-old, the gelding is rated 88 and has won £83,787 in prize-money earnings.
Ali Dehani of Kuwait buys Lot 556, the 90-rated A Star Above (Sea The Stars), the four-year-old gelding consigned by Somerville Lodge for owner Rabbah Bloodstock. He is the winner of three races from 11 starts with his winning form coming over 1m4f and 1m6f. (20:00)
Lot 525: Alarm Call, who has run five times and won once, fetches 70,000gns, bought by Paul Harley Bloodstock.
She is by Oasis Dream and out of a Listed-winning , Group 3-placed Dr Fong mare called Emergency. She is dam of five winners and an own-sister to Prohibit, winner of the King's Stand Stakes (G1). Second dam Well Warned finished third in the Cherry Hinton Stakes (G2) and the Fred Darling Stakes (G3).
Alarm Call's win came at Navan over 5f last October for trainer Ger Lyons.
"We are juggling with plans for her at the moment," said Harley. "She has gone tonight to The National Stud, and we will decide whether to put her back into training and see if we can perhaps pick up some black-type, or send her straight to stud in Ireland. She has been bought for breeder Erica Gilliar."
Harley continued to explain the decision-making process he and Gilliar will be making: "Alarm Call did run last time in a Listed race and, although she finished down the field, she was not beaten far. However, she has come from Ger Lyons who is a very good trainer and for whom I have the utmost respect, we won't be improving on his efforts!" (19:19)
Lot 517: Diderot, by Bated Breath and from this evening's Juddmonte draft, is bought by Axom for 90,000gns.
Dan Downie of Axom said: "We will get him back, give him a couple of weeks, and make a decision where he will go into training. He could be for Elite Racing, Axom or the Owners Group, we have not decided yet.
"He looks really progressive, there should be some improvement we just really liked him and his profile."
Trained by Ger Lyons in Ireland, the gelding won his maiden on second start over a mile at Dundalk before finishing mid-division in handicaps over a mile and 7f at Leopardstown and The Curragh.
The Elite Racing Club, Axom Racing Syndicates and Owners Group are various multiple ownership groups and syndicates run by the Elite Racing Club team. (18:52)

She is a half-sister to four winners, out of the Giant's Causeway mare Shohrah and from the family of the Group 3 winner Wells Farhh Go, the champions Ibn Bey and Red Camellia, and the Yorkshire Oaks (G1) winner Roseate Tern.
The Racing Post reported after her last-time-out win that "there's a lot to like about her attitude and it should bring her more success". (12:36)
Lot 436: Restitution, the son of Frankel and Restiana (Kendargent), a full-sister to the Group 2 winner Restiadargent, is bought by Mark Richards on behalf of International Thoroughbred Solutions.
The former NH jockey Richards, who, after the conclusion of his riding career, was in Hong Kong for 22 years working for the Hong Kong Jockey Club, has returned to England and is now based in Newmarket.
"It is nice to be back. I am acting here for Mark Player's International Thoroughbred Solutions.
"He is well used to purchasing horses here to go to Australia and the mere fact of me being back here, it is using old contacts and old friends as much as anything else. He likes to have someone on the ground to see the horses, knows the sort of horse I will be looking at and said that, if I found anything that might suit, to get in touch.
"I thought this is a lovely sort of horse, a lovely looking horse, hopefully he will acclimatise to Australia and he will head straight there now."
When asked why this horse in particular appealed to Richards, he outlined: "You are just looking for a horse who can operate on good or faster ground and one you think can get a trip. He had already proven that he can stay a mile and a half, and they seem to get more distance when they get down there anyway. It is advantage to have been able to have performed on a quicker track rather than slower track.
Richards managed the International Sale in Hong Kong for some years, having headed out initially as a TV presenter and pundit, added: "It is good to be back!"
It is the second six-figure sale in two days for the pedigree – the in-foal mare Tianadargent (Lot 212 ), another full-sister to Restiana and Restiadargent, was sold to Alex Elliott yesterday for 100,000gns. (12:23)
Lot 382: The Perfect Crown (Hallowed Crown) is sold by James Owen Racing and bought by Blandford Bloodstock for 50,000gns.
The adaptable four-year-old can boast of Listed-placed form – he finished third in the Spring Cup at Lingfield and was fourth in the Prix Luthier at Deauville.
Rated 101, he has recently been racing in Dubai. (10:52)
Lot 381: Man Of The Night sells for 175,000gns, the best price given on the Thursday of the July Sale since 2017.
The four-year-old colt by Night Of Thunder is a winner over 1m2f since the catalogue was published, showing good form on fast ground, and is now rated 92.
A spokesperson Sheikh Abdullah Al-Hmoud Al-Malek Al-Sabah said: "He might go to Kuwait, but we have horses in training in the UK so he may stay here for a time. We were looking for a horse who would stay further than a mile." (10:46)
Lot 360: the recent winner Magic Warrior is bought by Will Douglass of Charlie Gordon-Watson Bloodstock for 67,000gns.
The two-year-old colt is a son of Kodiac and is now on a rating of 79. He holds an entry in 6f nursery at York this weekend.
Douglass also bought Lot 359 – Hafez (Dark Angel), signing for Al Ghazali Stable.

He is horse we will try and plot a big handicap with and then hopefully he will materialise into a stakes performer.
"Syndicates are flying in Ireland at the minute, we have a had a lot of success and long may it continue.

Lot 212 and Lot 214: a good ten minutes' work for Barton Sales and Tally-Ho Stud's stallion Mehmas.
Tom Blain's consigning agency sells Lot 212, Tianadargent (Kendargent), in-foal to Mehmas, for 100,000gns to Alex Elliott, and Lot 214, a Shamardal mare named Excellent View, in-foal to Mehmas and with a Mehmas foal at foot, for 200,000gns to Charlie Gordon-Watson.
"Two lovely sales, the first mare Tianadargent is a lovely, rangy mare with a big walk and a lovely pedigree. She deserved the money, she stood-out as she is in-foal to very good stallion who is kicking goals. She was sold for a group of English breeders, I am really pleased for them," said Blain.
Of Excellent View's sale, Blain added: "A smashing mare, she had a lovely Mehmas foal at foot, who is a good example of what she is carrying, and in this sale she stood out a bit. The foal is good and she has got a black-type runner this year. She was sold for a good Irish client and I am delighted for them."
Excellent View's black-type runner is called Mutaraffa (Acclamation). He was the mare's first foal born in 2016, and was Listed-placed earlier this year in the Dubai Dash, Meydan.
Gordon-Watson, acting for an owner/breeder based in England, said: “I’ve been looking for a Shamardal mare for this client for some time, and this is a good-quality, pretty mare with a very nice foal at foot.
“I love Mehmas as a sire – he gets good fillies, colts and geldings over any distance, any ground, any trainer, and in England, Ireland, France and America. Philip D’Amato has a good horse of his over there [Going Global].
“It’s nice to see this mare can produce a nice foal by Mehmas given that she’s back in-foal to him and she ticked all the boxes. She’s not that old and she’s produced a black-type winner and she was unlucky to miss a couple of years.”
Tianadargent was bought in France for €35,000 by Barry Lynch in 2019. She is a full-sister to the Group 2 winner and Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes-placed Restiadargent. (16:58)

Nozhar has had three foals, two runners both of whom are winners. She has the unraced Exceed And Excel colt El Koun, a yearling colt also by Exceed And Excel. She did not have a foal this year, and was covered by Earthlight this March.

"We knew she wasn't going to be given away here, the entire draft has some stand-out mares. She is quality, and fingers crossed, she carries a good foal and is a successful broodmare, which she has bought to be."
The half-sister is Nemoralia by More Than Ready. She won the City Of York Stakes (G3), the Michael Seely Memorial Stakes (L) and was placed second in the Coronation Stakes (G1) and in the Frizette Stakes (G1), and finished third in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Stakes (G1) and fourth in the Prix Jean Prat (G1). He said: "I thought she was a very good physical and obviously she cost a lot of money as a yearling [$1,100,000]. She's got a good covering too, I'm a big fan of Blue Point, and it's a lovely, deep family as well. Hopefully, she can be a nice mare going forward. She's heading to America." (14:08)
Lot 121: Subella, sold by Godolphin in-foal to Invincible Spirit, is a half-sister to the 1,000 Guineas (G1) runner-up Cloak Of Spirits, who is also by Invincible Spirit.

"She is for an Australian client," said buyer Hubie de Burgh. "She will be covered on southern-hemisphere time by Lope De Vega before she travels. She is by Frankel, which speaks for itself, and it is a very current pedigree and there could be more to come."
Frankieta is a half-sister to the Listed-winning, Group 2-placed Stylistique (Dansili) and out of the winning mare Sleek (Oasis Dream), an own-sister to the London Thoroughbred Services Ltd-bred Bye Bye Birdie, winner of the Balanchine Stakes (G3). She is dam of Delphi, winner of last year's St Leger Trial Stakes (G3) and now racing in Australia.
It is the family of the Group 1 winners Eagle Mountain, Sulk and Dank (11:40)
