Lot 162:
from Croom House Stud, the colt by Ten Sovereigns makes 110,000gns purchased by Alex Elliott. The colt goes into training with Paul Cole, and like Lot
80, has been purchased for Valmont.
The April-born bay colt is a half-brother to four winners, all the runners out of his dam the Montjeu mare Fiuise. The best of the quartet is Barbill, winner of the Prix Yacowlef and placed in the Doncaster Stakes (L), the Prix de la Vallee d'Auge (L), the Cornwallis Stakes (G3), the Carnarvon Stakes (L), the Dragon Stakes (L) and the Rose Bowl Stakes (L).
(16:43)
Lot 154:
the Shadwell Estate Company-offered colt by Dubawi, the only colt offered today by the champion sire, and out of the Group 2 winner and Group 1 fourth-placed mare Fadayyil (Tamayuz), a daughter of the dual Group 3 winner Ziria (Danehill Dancer), is bought by Yeomanstown Stud for 180,000gns.
Fasayyil has had two winners from two runners with Muraath (Oasis Dream) successful six times, with a Group 2 victory in the Let's Elope Stakes (G2) at Flemington. He has also collected a third placing in the Australia Stakes (G2) and a fourth place in the Futurity Stakes at Caulfield (G1).
David O'Callaghan said: “We bought him to reoffer him at the breeze-ups. We liked him a lot and thought he was very fast looking. Obviously he’s by a top stallion and out of a very good mare and we don’t get too many opportunities to buy this type so we said if he didn’t make a silly price we’d step in. Thankfully he fell just within our range. He’ll come back to one of the breeze-ups, maybe the Craven or maybe France, we’ll just see. I haven’t breezed one by Dubawi before but he looks quick so let’s hope he goes okay.”
(16:31)
Lot 113:
Avenue Bloodstock buys this colt by Lope De Vega for 150,000gns.
"He is a very nice colt," reported Avenue's Mark McStay. "Dick O'Gorman who helps me at the sales identified him and shortlisted him on Saturday. He told me that, in his opinion, he is the nicest horse here , and when I saw the horse I agreed. He has been bought for an existing client and is a horse who ticked all the boxes: he is by a proven sire and out of a proven mare. He was recommended by consignor Bill Dwan."
The colt's Hurricane Run dam Azanara is the dam of two winners from three runners with her colt Azano (Oasis Dream), the winner of the Group 3 Prix Paul de Moussac and placed in the Horris Hill Stakes (G3).
Azanara is a half-sister to Astarabad, winner of the Group 1 Prix Garnay, and to Asmara, the dam of Azamour, the champion older horse of 2005.
The Castlebridge Consignment was in charge of selling duties for breeder Elysian Bloodstock Ltd.
(16:23)
Lot 112:
Norris Bloodstock sells an Invincible Spirit colt for 100,000gns to Hong Kong Jockey Club.
The May-born colt, bred by Eric Chen, is out of the Frankel mare Aspirer, the winner of one race as a three-year-old in France. She was bred by Juddmonte Farms and bought by John Berry at the 2019 Tattersalls December Breeding Stock Sale for 160,000gns. She is dam of one runner to date, Katana Max (Maxios), who has placed once as a three-year-old.
Grand-dam is the Storm Cat mare Nebraska Tornado, winner of the Prix de Diane (G1) and the Prix du Moulin (G1), and Group 1 placed in the Sun Chariot and the Prix d'Astarte.
(15:03)
Lot 84:
the bay colt by Harry Angel gives a fine pinhooking return – bought for 26,000gns here as a foal last year, he is sold today by Hegarty Bloodstock for 92,000gns to Richard Frisby Bloodstock.
He is a half-brother to six winners, headed by Morning Post (Acclamation), a winner at two and tree and placed third in the Redcar Two Year Old Trophy, and the seven-time winner Munfarrid (Showcasing).
(14:24)
Lot 80:
also by Sea The Stars, this filly is the first to fetch over 200,000gns at the sale today with Alex Elliott the successful buyer at 260,000gns. The filly, sold by Whatton Manor Stud, is out of Swizzle Stick (Sadler's Wells), the dam of the Australian Group 1 Australian Cup winner Fifty Stars, also by Sea The Stars.
"She is for Valmont and goes to Ralph Beckett," explained Elliott. "She is a Book 1 filly. She picked up a slight injury then and did not get to the sale in October, so she is a Book 1 filly in December. We had to pay a Book 1 price for her.
:We have a good Sea The Stars filly called Trust The Stars, who won a Newmarket maiden. She is going to be, hopefully, an Oaks type of filly, and it is that middle-distance three-year-old profile we are looking for, the Classic type of horse.
"Hopefully, this filly can develop into one! She has got a pedigree, she was bred by Airlie Stud, a fantastic breeder, I love trying to buy off the farm, I often can't! The farm gets such great results. The mare has been bred back to Sea The Stars, she has a filly foal by him, she is in-foal to him and she is going back to him. There is a lot to happen for us, hopefully she is one we can race and then breed from in time."
Elliott expanded a bit further on Valmont: "We bought 33 yearlings, and we have 60 horses in training now. We trade, we have sold a few and we play the game. As regards this filly, there is lots happening in the family, she is sister to a Group 1 winner, she is by Sea The Stars and she has an awful lot going for her."
The family stretches back to such Group 1 horses and champions as Zilzal, Polish Precedent and Culture Vulture.
(14:11)
Lot 69:
"He has been bought for Willie Brown to go breezing," reported Ross Doyle after buying this colt by Sea The Stars for 145,000gns.
"He is a nice horse, by Sea The Stars, from a good home and out of a good mare. Sea The Stars is such a good stallion and I myself am a big fan of German pedigrees –they are tough and hardy."
Bred and consigned by Gesut Fahrhof, the colt is out of the Siyouni mare Sequilla, a winner twice at three and placed at Listed class. She is from the family of the Mehl-Mulhens Rennen (G2), Premio Ribot (G2) and Preis der Dortmunder Wirtschaft (G3) winner Santiago.
(13:55)
Lot 24:
is heading to Australia, the filly by Ten Sovereigns going to trainer Annabel Neasham who has already been mentioned in dispatches this morning regarding the sale of Lot
6.
Consigned by Barton Stud, the filly was bought by Stuart Boman, who said: "She has been bought for for Nathan Bennett of Bennett Racing, who owns her half-brother Sibaaq who I purchased on Nathan's behalf at the Horses In Training Sale last year.
"It is a bit of longer term project, but Sibaaq has already won over half a million in prize-money; it is quite extraordinary the state of prize-money in Australia, it is phenomenal," said Boman. "He has worked out very well and this filly has huge residual.
"She was in the October Book 2 Yearling Sale, but did not make it due to a minor issue. I saw her at Barton Stud a couple of weeks ago – it makes sense and we think Sibaaq is up to Group class in Australia."
Boman added: "The Australians are interested in buying more yearlings in the northern-hemisphere. This filly would now be six months behind, so effectively you have to write off the juvenile year. Physically, she is a nice filly but she is going to need a bit of time anyway so it will work in."
Sibaaq has been placed 11 times in total, run in four barrier trials and seven races in Australia. He has been placed in five of those starts and has won once. He cost 75,000gns here last October having won four times for trainer Mark Johnston achieving a winning handicap mark of 88.
The filly's dam Maid To Dream (Oasis Dream) has already produced two black-type winners, including The Happy Prince, winner of the Renaissance Stakes (G3). The pedigree also boasts the Group 1 winner Stroll, Lea, and the Group 1 performers Grassy and Lady In Waiting.
(12:22)
Lot 6:
just the sixth lot in this morning fetches 155,000gns, the son of No Nay Never bought by Michael Donohoe of BBA Ireland on behalf of Yulong Investments.
"I had previously bought the dam for client Michael Enright so I know all about her and I bought her in-foal carrying this colt," reported Donohoe. "I had seen him as a foal and as yearling, he was entered in Book 1 but was going through a growing stage then and was withdrawn.
"I told Mr Zhang about him, and when he saw him this morning he liked him so he said we'd have a go. The colt is going to Karl Burke, we think he is nice horse and joins a couple we already have with Karl."
The colt is a first foal out of Lady Corsica (Galileo), a full-sister to three black-type performers – the Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes (G1) winner Deauville, the Dubai Duty Free Arc Trial (G3) winner The Corsican and Tides Of War, a Group 3 runner-up in France.
(11:39)
Lot 3:
the Staffordstown-offered filly by Sea The Moon and out of the Kandahari (Archipenko) goes to Marco Bozzi Bloodstock for 60,000gns.
The mare is a half-sister to the Zaaki, the Tattersalls Horses In Training graduate who has been so successful for trainer Annabel Neasham in Australia – he has won nine Group races, including the Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes, the Underwood Stakes (G1), the Doomben Cup (G1) and, at the beginning of November, the TAB Champions Stakes at Flemington.
Kandahari has had one winner from one runner – Kawida (Sir Percy), the winner of the Montrose Stakes (L) and placed in the Lanwades Stakes (G3) and the the Prix Cleopatre (G3).
Her two-year-old of this year Khinjani, also by Sir Percy, has been placed twice from three career starts.

Chairman's statement
At the conclusion of the 2022 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale, Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony commented:
“It has been another extraordinary Tattersalls sale in a month which has seen the record books completely rewritten time after time. The unprecedented demand at all four books of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale has been followed by unrelenting demand from start to finish at this week’s Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale.
“Turnover has surpassed last year’s record level by a considerable margin, the average has reached an unprecedented height, the median has equalled last year’s record and the clearance rate has again been in excess of 90 per cent, all of which points to a sale of genuine strength and depth at all levels of the market.
"The Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale is a truly remarkable sale, unmatched anywhere else in the world and the sheer number and diversity of buyers here at Park Paddocks this week is a tribute not only to the quality of the stock on offer, but also to the high esteem in which British and Irish racing is held throughout the world.
“Owners and trainers from throughout Britain and Ireland and further afield have the utmost confidence that this unique fixture will annually provide them with an unrivalled marketplace and never has this been more evident than over the past four days. Swathes of overseas buyers from more than 30 different countries have as ever made a massive contribution and the domestic buyers, both Flat and National Hunt, have also been out in force.
"Particular mention must go to the huge contingent of buyers from throughout the Gulf region, spurred on by their burgeoning racing carnivals which have become such an important feature of the international racing calendar in recent years. Their contribution has been immense, and they have met determined competition, especially at the top of the market, from strong teams of buyers most notably from Australia and the USA.
“Yet again we have experienced a sale which has reinforced Newmarket’s reputation as the hub of the European thoroughbred business and the success of this week’s sale suggests that we can look forward to welcoming a similarly international cast of buyers to the Tattersalls December Foal and Breeding Stock Sale which annually showcases the very best of European bloodstock to a global audience."

Lot 1540:
the Day 4 top lot comes late in the day – the Charnwood Stables-consigned Awtaad colt Al Shami sells for 80,000gns.
Trained by John Butler the juvenile colt has run twice and, after finishing second on his debut at Ffos Las, he put his head in front at Wolverhampton over 7f.
Today he was bought by Eoin Sullivan, who said: "He is for Saudi, again. He is a nice, big strong horse, he needs a bit of time but he'll get it. What he has done so far for the physical that he is he obviously has some level of ability. We'll take him along slowly and we are happy enough to get him/
Of his week, Sullivan updated: "We have bought six or seven, all for Saudi Arabia, and have bought a mixture of two-year-olds, three-year-olds and one or two four-year-olds, and they are for different connections."
He added: "We are happy enough with the week, it has not been easy! The programme in Saudi is expanding generally, there is not great sprint programme so a lot of the guys are on the same horses who get a mile and a mile plus – it is funny as so many people are trying to breed sharp fast horses! For that [Saudi] market the demand is is definitely more for a middle-distance horse"
(17:42)
Lot 1431:
Con Marnane's name has appeared on the buyers' list, the Irishman having spent 28,000gns on Stubble Field (Adaay).
The three-year-old has been placed four times and is yet to win, but she is a half-sister to the Richard Hannon-trained Shouldvebeenaring (Havana Grey). One of this season's talking horses, the colt has three race wins by his name, including the Listed Champion 2yo Trophy at Ripon.
He has since finished second in the 6f All-Weather Championships Fast-Track Qualifier run at Newcastle.
(15:21)
Lot 1428:
consigned by Baroda Stud for owner Thoroughbred Racing Syndicate and trainer Joseph O'Brien, Rubio Draco makes 60,000gns. The juvenile colt was bought by the brothers Nawaf and Mohammed Almutairi, and the two-year-old son of Fast Company is heading to Saudi Arabia and will run in Mohammed's name.
The siblings were delighted with their purchase and were taking many photos of each other standing alongside the obliging colt in the sun in Further Paddock.
Taking time out from the photo shoot, Mohammed said: "We are very pleased, he is a good horse and been in good form, he won earlier this month. I hope he will be good enough for one of the 22 races on the two-day Saudi Cup meeting."
Mohammed has bought at Tattersalls before and already owns a small string of seven in Saudi.
Thoroughbred Racing Syndicates is run by the former professional rugby player Johne Murphy and consignor David Cox of Baroda said: "The fact that this horse won recently has really helped. It has been fantastic trade all week, and we had a very good day yesterday selling for Roger Varian and Jessica Harrington. The earlier July Sale here was very strong so I thought this week would be competitive, it is great that these horses are in such high demand."
(15:03)
Lot 1410:

Lelebad was bought for 34,000gns and is going to Saudi Arabia.
"He has good form, he has a good pedigree," said his new owner Salah Albzeea who is at Tattersalls with his brother. "We will see how he progresses in his new country."

Lot 1161:
Marco Bozzi Bloodstock uses the online platform to buy Going Gone for HRH Prince Saud Bin Salman Al Saud. The gelding was sold by Baroda Stud for 330,000gns.
The four-year-old son of Le Havre has won four races from 14 starts for trainer Jim Boyle, and was bought by Peter & Ross Doyle Bloodstock at the Tattersalls December Yearling Sale in 2019 for 80,000gns.
He finished sixth last time out in the Cesarewitch Handicap over 2m2f.
"He’s a nice distance horse to race on in Saudi Arabia,” said Bozzi. “The Prince also has a stable in France, so he can travel there in March or April and run there, too. I was in contact with the team and we all liked him, and he vetted very well too. I think the Prince is very happy to have him."
(21:18)
Lot 1139A:
Amichi, winner of the £100,000 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes and the £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes, is bought by Najd Stud for 325,000gns.
The son of Gutaifan was purchased as a yearling by SackvilleDonald for just 15,500gns at the Somerville Sale in 2021; he has won over £138,947 in prize-money earnings collecting the two valuable Tattersalls sale races.
“What a legend!” said a delighted Walker. “He really has been a cool horse and I’ve just been saying to Jimmy George, I bought him on spec with Ed Sackville for 15,500gns and I wish I hadn’t sold him! Laurence has been a great supporter of mine since I started training so we offered the horse straight up to him and he never hesitated and bought him straight away on our recommendation. The rest is history but fair play to Laurence because he deserves it, he puts a huge amount into the game.
“Without being negative about British racing, which is thriving in so many ways, but at the same time we have to make our money through other avenues rather than prize-money so you do have to keep trading horses. We’ve got yearlings for sale at home and I’m sure Laurence will buy one or two, he’s the sort of owner who doesn’t take out of the game, he puts in. I’ve sold lots of horses for plenty of money before and the wheels haven’t kept turning but I know with this one they’ll keep turning.
“I didn’t buy many yearlings for 15 grand this year! They were hard to find.”
(21:15)
Lot 1132:
Fancy Man is heading Down Under, bought by Stuart Boman of Blandford Bloodstock for Annabel Neasham Racing. Boman was on the phone to Neasham through the bidding and the pair secured the son of Pride Of Dubai at 675,000gns.
Underbidders included Michael Donohoe of BBA Ireland.
Boman said: "We wanted a Melbourne Cup horse so we thought we'd come and buy the best horse here, and I genuinely think he is. He has been running at a very high level for a long time, he has been beautifully trained by Richard Hannon and I have followed him through the year. He vetted very cleanly.
"Annabel is extraordinarily brave and willing to go to that sort of figure – we always knew he'd be an expensive horse, although you never really know what they are going to make. But you either get on with it and buy them and make happen, or you don't.
"He is a highly rated horse, and you are really buying the number. He is a 119-rated horse, the highest-rated horse here, he runs to110 every week, he is a good horse. The form is there to see – he was a Group-winning two-year-old, he has been high class all the way through and he is one of those horse who can perform over 1m4f, yet we think he will get 2m in Australia."
Of his ownership plans, Boman said: "Annabel had 200 people sign up expressing and interest to get involved with whatever horse we bought; I am sure he will be able to sell him! She has been very patient and we think we have bought a Cup horse."
Boman and Neasham have enjoyed great success previously at the Autumn Horses In Training Sale and in 2020 purchased Zaaki for 150,000gns, one of this year's catalogue cover stars. The son of Leroidesanimaux has since gone on to enjoy Group 1 success in the MacKinnon Stakes and multiple Group and 2 placed results, including a fourth place in last weekend's Cox Plate and a third place in the Might And Power (G1) Stakes at the beginning of the month.
Fancy Man's outgoing trainer Richard Hannon said: "It is always sad with that much ability leave the yard, but makes the way for new horses. He has been a gentleman for us and Michael [Pescod], and he brought the money I think he deserved. I thought he'd make that – physically he is a gorgeous horse. Trade here is unbelievable."

Lot 1113:
another new set of Saudi Arabian connections strike, this time going to 425,000gns for the Bjorn Nielsen owned and bred Magisterial (Frankel). The horse was signed for by A Alsaid / Andre Pereira.
The gelding is a winner over a mile and 1m2f and finished third last time out at Newbury in the Class 2 Horris Hill School Handicap over 1m2f off a rating of 99 for John and Thady Gosden.
Bloodstock agent Andre Pereira was assisting the new buyers and said: "Sami Alhurabi will be training the horse, he liked him when he saw him here. The team like him being by Frankel, and he has a great pedigree, too. The intention for this horse is to be aimed for the Saudi World Cup day, depending on how he adapts to the new environment. And, yes, we thought we'd have to pay that for him!"
He added: "The owner is a new to racing and he is ambitious and keen to get to have a runner on Saudi Cup day."
The gelding is out of Hoity Toity (Darshaan), and he is a half-brother to the Group 1 winner Lillie Langtry, the dam of the three-time champion Minding, the Oaks (G1) winner Tuesday and the Classic winner Empress Josephine.

Lot 1087:
the two-year-old colt One World, a son of Sea The Stars sold by Juddmonte, is bought by new and developing Saudi Arabian-based thoroughbred racing owner Athbah Racing. Bloodstock agent Ted Durcan was assisting. The colt cost the delighted new connections 525,000gns.
Although an emerging owner in the world thoroughbred racing, Athbah Racing is currently a leading interest in the Arabian racehorse division, and heads this season's Arabian Racehorse Organisation owners' standings in the UK.
Athbah's manager Abdul Moniem, who was with Durcan, said: "The plan is to take him to Saudi Arabia. We are so delighted as this is the first time for his HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to buy a thoroughbred horse at Tattersalls. We have been racing Arabians, and are a leading owner, but we are just developing our thoroughbred ownership side."
Of One World, he said: "The pedigree is beautiful, he is very well bred horse and he was bred by Juddmonte, which we really like. We like his conformation and he vetted well. He is young, too – I think he is a good horse! Ted has been with us and has been very helpful, he is a good man!"
Of plans for One World, Moniem said: "He will be trained by Lucas Gaitan, who is already training a few horses for us, including Moj'hem who has won well for us."
One World was trained by John and Thady Gosden and won on his debut in June at Haydock over 7f. He has also finished second twice in the summer and won at Newcastle in September. Lastt time out he finished second again at Newmarket in a nursery on October 19.

Lot 1086:
Special Envoy (Frankel) from the Juddmonte draft is bought for 250,000gns, the son of Frankel purchased by McKeever and Waterhouse Bott
Susie McKeever was in charge of bidding and kicked things off in the "McKeever" way at 100,000gns.
"I couldn't see the point of the bidding starting lower," she said. "He will head down tomorrow with yesterday's purchase. We liked his profile and he is a lovely horse."
Husband Johnny is currently travelling to Australia: "He has three runners in the Melbourne Cup – Hoo Ya Mal, Knights Order, who is also a Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training graduate, and Camorra," reported Susie.
Special Envoy is rated 98 and won a Class 3 handicap at Windsor in July over 1m3f off a mark of 92 having won at the same track on his second career start in June.

Lot 1059:
trainer Julie Camacho goes to 150,000gns for Tactical, a 2018 colt by Toronado and bred by The Queen out of the Listed-placed Make Fast (Makfi). The four-year-old is rated 102 and has earned over £104,000 in prize-money earnings – he last won in April 2021 when successful in the European Free Handicap (L) at Newmarket by a neck from Naval Crown.
The colt has been in training with Andrew Balding for all his career which has seen him run 17 times for three victories and two placings.
As a two-year-old he won the July Stakes (G2) for the late Queen.
(17:25)
Lot 1037:
Kevin Ross Bloodstock buying for trainer Henry De Bromhead spends 100,000gns on Ascending, a 2019 gelding by Awtaad from Clive Cox's Beechdown Farm Stables.
He has finished second on his last two racecourse starts at Newbury (September) and Nottingham (October) over 1m2f off BHA marks of 81 and 82. He won a mile handicap in June at Goodwood off 77.
(17:18)
Lot 1032:
agent Guy Mulcaster and trainer Chris Waller step up to a 310,000gns spend for The Gadget Man, a three-year-old son of Jack Hobbs.
Another hailing from the Kimpton Downs yard of Ralph Beckett, the three-year-old is a progressive winner over 1m6f and 2m and now has a rating of 91.
Mulcaster laughed: "Let's hope he keeps on the upward curve! I just watched his replays this morning and thought he was so tough. He is also a very athletic horse, he is light on his feet. moves well and we think he will fit into our programme pretty well. He was not cheap, but judging by the way this sale has gone, he might not have been that expensive either – there was a number of people pushing us along.
"We are pretty happy to have got him at that sort of money. When you see his replays and he gets stuck in... he is only going to go forward and he is going to develop a bit as well. He has a pretty dour sort of pedigree."
The Gadget Man was bred and raced by owners Derek and Judith Newell, who also bred and raced his dam Kallisha (Whipper). She finished second in the Fred Archer Stakes (L) and fourth in the Godolphin Stakes (L) and the Lingfield Oaks Trial (L) and The Gadget Man is her first foal.
Jack Hobbs (Halling) stands at Overbury Stud for £3,000 and has had just a handful of runners on the Flat.
(16:36)
Lot 1029:
bloodstock agent Will Johnson, and the father and son training team of Peter and Paul Snowden Racing, go to 170,000gns for Unspoken, adding a second purchase for the crew this week after buying Substantial (Lot
708) for 160,000gns yesterday.
"He has some good form over 7f," reported Johnson via a What's App call from Australia, "and Ralph [Beckett] ran him over 1m1f last weekend at Doncaster - he was tough and tenacious and won well. We can often have wet autumns here in Australia and he has shown he will go on good ground as well as a rain-softened ground, too."
The son of Territories has run right times and won three races and finished third once.
"His form over 7f gives a few options and Peter and Paul like to see that in a horse. Hopefully, he can come here well handicapped, and go up through the grades."
Johnson follows the European form throughout the season and said: "With access to all the race replays now, and such good racing in Europe, it makes for good viewing on a Monday morning!"
(16:24)
Lot 1001A:
Saud Saad, speaking on behalf of Najd Stud after the team bought the Godolphin-consigned Finest Sound for 350,000gns, said: "He is very good horse, hopefully he will acclimatise quickly and we have bought him for the Saudi Cup meeting, we don't know which race yet.
"It depends on how he will do – he will be racing on a different surface and in a different country."
Saad added: "It has been a very good market here, there are a lot of people from all around the world here to try and buy horses, we have been underbidder to three or four different groups from Australia, from America... it shows that Tattersalls sale are the best!" 😉 😊
Finest Sound, a five-year-old by Exceed And Excel, is an experienced traveller – he finished third in the Woodbine Mile (G1) in September and in March finished second in the Jebel Hatta (G1).
He has been BHA rated over 100 since last October and is a on a career high of 111.
Stuart Boman was underbidder at 335,000gns.
(15:24)
Lot 991:
the three-time winner Sooghan, by Iffraaj and out of the Street Cry mare Feedyah, has been bought to continue his racing career in Saudi Arabia.
"He looks a progressive type of horse, it has not been easy to buy, he is for a new client based in Saudi and racing is really kicking off in Saudi and this is the type of horse who should do well," said buyer Eoin Sullivan, who added: "This horse is rated around what we are looking for, Saudi racing is quite competitive – I feel you can't get away with sending a horse over unless he is rated over 80 at least. Sooghan vetted well, he has form around Kempton which is helpful, he gets mile, and he is nice big strong horse with plenty of bone."
Sooghan's pedigree also heralds the likelihood of success in the Middle East – his dam Feedyah finished second in the UAE Oaks (G3) and third in the UAE 1,000 Guineas, both races run at Meydan.
(14:57)
Lot 973:
Be Lucky My Son, the winner of three races, was bought by "Oliver St Lawrence and team" according to the auctioneer, the son of Dandy Man going to the new connections for 85,000gns.
