Lot 74:
Oliver St Lawrence Bloodstock goes to 20,000gns for Fleet Admiral (No Nay Never).
The brown colt is out of Fleeting Fancy (Galileo), a placed daughter of Just Pretending (Giant's Causeway), winner of the Group 3 Derrinstown 1000 Guineas Trial, runner-up in the Ribblesdale Stakes (G2) and third in the Irish Oaks (G1) and the Irish 1,000 Guineas (G1).
Fleet Admiral, sold by Park House for Godolphin, has run three times and finished third and fourth twice over distances from 7f to 1m2f.
(11:37)
Lot 65:
Bint Havana Grey, a two-year-old daughter of Havana Grey who has run four times and finished placed on all those starts, is bought by Michael Donohoe of BBA Ireland on behalf of a client in the Middle East as a racing prospect.
She is out of the Royal Applause mare Perfect Cover, the dam of six winners from nine foals. It is the further family of Peak To Creek and Ripples Maid and the Japanese Group 1 runner Mikki Charm.
Bint Havana Grey was sold by Richard Hughes's Weathercock House Stables for Rabbah Bloodstock.
(10:59)
Lot 31:
Emirates Angel, a two-year-old filly by Harry Angel, and a winner since the catalogue was published, is bought by Will Douglass (Charlie Gordon Watson Bloodstock) for 40,000gns.
She was sold by the training stable of Alice Haynes Racing for owner Ahmad Alshaikh. The filly has run three times, twice in August when finished third at Bath over five and a half furlongs and then winning at Chepstow earlier this week over 7f.
She is the first foal out of the Acclamation mare Designation.

Coolnaugh Haze, by Lawman and out of Midas Haze (Pivotal), sold by Sandhill Racing Stables (P. Hobbs) goes to James Owen Racing for 22,000gns.
He is a two-time, two-mile winner over hurdles and is rated 118.
(14:47)
Lot 79:
one of the expected top lots of the day did not disappoint – interested parties were standing right around the ring, and were also busy online, and wildcard entry Midnight Lion, a June Goodwood winner over 1m6f, is sold by Charlie Johnston's Kingsley Park on behalf of Rabbah Bloodstock for 85,000gns.
He was another purchase by Nick Taylor for Tom Malone Bloodstock and this son of Nathaniel has a jumping future ahead of him.
"He was clearly the pick of the day for us, and he has been bought for Paul Nicholls," said Taylor, who is heading to Fairyhouse next week for the two-day Tattersalls Ireland July Store Sale.
"We liked him when we saw him, Nathaniel is a big plus to go jumping, he has a lovely soft ground action and is just the type of horse we are looking for. He has the size and Charlie Johnston was very positive about him.
"He stays, and there is a good hurdler in the pedigree too – Eradicate is a half-brother. We just need to be a bit lucky now!"
Midnight Lion is already a two-time Tattersalls graduate – he was a 30,000gns 2020 Tattersalls December Foal, sold by Crimbourne Bloodstock to Peter and Ross Doyle, progressing to Tattersalls October Book 1 in 2021. He was sold then by Kildaragh Stud to Johnston Racing for 60,000gns.
(13:50)
Lot 74:
from the Rabbah Bloodstock draft, the progressive Laafi goes to an online bid from Stephensen Bloodstock of 72,000gns.
The 95-rated son of Cloth Of Stars from William Haggas's Somerville Lodge was a maiden winner in October as a juvenile. He has run twice this year when fourth in the Listed Lingfield Derby Trial and was then down the field in the Golden Gates Handicap at Royal Ascot. He has run just four times.
The colt is a grandson of the Group 1-placed Mare Nostrum (Caerleon), the dam of the Group 1 winner Erupt, successful in the Grand Prix de Paris.
(13:39)
Lot 60:
the five-time winner Letmelivemylife is bought by Tom Malone Bloodstock, Nick Taylor at the sales ground and in charge of bidding. Taylor had to go to 35,000gns to secure the five-year-old gelding by Oasis Dream.
Consigned by Sean Curran Racing, Letmelivemylife last won in April off a mark of 81 under jockey Adam Kirby, who has ridden him twice and was in the ring to watch the gelding sell.
"He has been bought for Charlie Pike, currently assistant to trainer Barry Brennan, and is going to train himself," said Malone, who also purchased at the Guineas Breeze Up Sale for Pike.
(13:18)
Lot 51:
Timeless Melody (Teofilo), an April winner for William Haggas and consigned by Somerville Lodge, makes 42,000gns with Matt Coleman of Stroud Coleman signing the docket.
"She has been bought for the French-based Jedburgh Stud and Alex Waugh," said Coleman. "Anthony [Stroud] has done bits and pieces for Alex before. Alex has had a lot of luck, as many people have, with mares by Teofilo and he is a phenomenal broodmare sire, and getting better and better. Timeless Melody has won on softer ground and there is a possibility she might run again in France this autumn, but she has been bought as a broodmare and will be covered next spring.
"The pedigree is working out quite well – Bridestones, a Teofilo daughter of the second dam, the Group 1 winner White Moonstone, got some black-type at Sandown and she might win a stakes race by the end of the season."
He added: "She is out of Dubawi mare and out of a Dynaformer mare and so there are three lovely broodmare sires on the page. We thought we might get her a bit cheaper and that was the top of what we wanted to pay, but she is a good-looking mare."
(12:53)
Lot 41:
Lady Of Sardinia, a winner just last night at Windsor, is another heading Qatar's way – the daughter of Twilight Son bought by trainer Debbie Mountain for owner Hassan Al-Abdulmalik.
The filly cost her new connections 28,000gns, and is another with involvement from RMM Bloodstock – Mills having bought the filly as a yearling for 14,000gns at the October Book 3 Sale last year. He reconsigned her at the Guineas Breeze Up Sale and bought her back in. She has been trained since then by Stuart Williams, running four times and winning twice.
"She will hit the early races, the 1200m and 1400m races, we have a lot of two-year-old races this year," explained Mountain. "Hopefully, she will then progress well into her three-year-old season over the same sort of distance. She likes top of the ground."
"I watched her race last night but she was on our radar anyway. I saw her pictures online, she is nice and has a good temperament."
Mountain added of her reasoning to buy a two-year-old: "The two-year-old programme is very good this year, and it gives us a chance to progress with a horse into its three-year-old season.
As you saw last week at the July Sale the three-year-old market is very strong , this suits us, gives us a chance to buy and also a bit of longevity.
"If we can buy a reasonable two-year-old, acclimatise them to the conditions in Qatar, and then run at three and a lot of them can be very competitive at three in the bigger races. It also gives time to give a two-year-old a break. We bought some nice two-year-olds last year and we are doing the same again."
(12:33)
Lot 34:
Armando Duarte spends 20,000gns on the Woodland Stables and Nigel Tinker-consigned gelding Prodigious Blue (Bated Breath) on behalf of regular Tattersalls buyer, the Qatar-based trainer Ibrahim Al Malki.
"I have bought a few for Ibrahim before," said Duarte, "and he called me up to take a look at this horse. He asked me to video him, which I did this morning, and Ibrahim liked what he saw and trusted my judgement. I hope he does well in Qatar and should suit the decent sprints there."
Prodigious Blue is the winner of two races over 5f off a BHA mark of 70.
(12:05)
Lot 6:
Rogue Fox is bought by RMM Bloodstock for 18,000gns and the son of Kodiac is shipping to Doha to continue his racing career.
"He has been bought for owner Osama Omer E Al-Dafea," said buyer Robbie Mills of RMM Bloodstock. "We have a few Qatari-based clients who we buy for and we have enjoyed some success.
"This horse is a solid type, and looks as though he will handle the conditions. He looks a nice sound horse to go forward with and run around a bend. He looks a physical to do that."
Rogue Fox is out of the unraced Tagula mare Cionn Tsaile, a half-sister to Danehill Kodiac, winner of the Group 3 Cumberland Lodge Stakes. The three-year-old gelding was sold by Tom Clover Racing and has run twice.
At the 2019 Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale, RMM Bloodstock purchased Taxiwala for 10,000gns. The son of Holy Roman Emperor is now a Qatari three-time winner with one success coming at Listed level. He has also finished second in the Dukhan Sprint.
"It is good to see some new faces here," added Mills when asked about the sale at Newmarket. It will not take Mills long to get home – he is based at Bill O'Gorman's Seven Springs Stables on Newmarket's Hamilton Road.

Tattersalls July Sale 2023
July Sale 2023 sales statement
At the conclusion of the 2023 Tattersalls July Sale, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony commented:
“To have bettered last year’s wide-margin record-breaking Tattersalls July Sale turnover is a clear indication of the robust and vibrant market, which year after year, makes this fixture so popular with vendors and purchasers alike.
“The key feature of the Tattersalls July Sale is its unique combination of quality and diversity, which cannot be found anywhere else at this time of year and, as ever, Park Paddocks has been alive with a global melting pot of buyers from every continent in the world who have faced strong competition from British and Irish buyers, both Flat and National Hunt.
“A record 12 lots making in excess of 200,000gns and 35 selling for 100,000gns or more demonstrates the strength at the top of the market, but equally important has been the consistent demand at all levels resulting in a record-equalling median and for the fifth consecutive year the Tattersalls July Sale has achieved an enviable clearance rate above 90%.
"While the high-class consignments from Godolphin, Juddmonte Farms and Shadwell Estates have as ever proved to be amongst the highlights of the July Sale we have also seen some smaller operations spectacularly rewarded, none more so than Tipperary based trainer Michael O’Meara and owner Emma Kennedy whose three year old homebred Ethical Diamond sold for 320,000gns.
"Results of this nature are the hallmark of mixed sales at Tattersalls and we now look forward to the Tattersalls Summer Sale, relocated from Ascot, which numbers 120 lots and takes place at Park Paddocks in Newmarket on Tuesday 18th July."

(11:37)
Lot 902:
all of the day's bidders were in the ring to see the Godolphin-consigned Tabaretta (Dubawi), winner of handicap at Wolverhampton in January, go through the ring, activity was brisk and from opposing ends of the ring.
Eventually it was Jimmy George of Tattersalls taking instructions over the phone who was successful at 210,000gns buying on behalf of Najd Stud.
"This was a bit of a stand out today," said George. "The scene in Saudi Arabia is going from strength to strength and he looks like a horse who will suit the country's racing perfectly. Najd is a regular buyer here and a great client and hopefully this gelding will go onto be successful for the stud."
George added: "Najd has been buying for many years but the racing in Saudi is expanding. The farm has been very successful with Tattersalls graduates and, like everything, it is success driven – the more winners they buy from Tattersalls, they more they come back."
Tabaretta is a half-brother to the Prix Miesque (G3) winner Devant, and his dam Davantage (Galileo) is a half-sister to the Group 1 Prix du Jockey-Club (G1) winner Blue Canari. It is the further family of the champion Mtoto.
(11:12)
Lot 898:
Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi spends 56,000gns on Changing Colours (Dubawi), bought on his behalf by Abdullah Muammer.
"This horse has a good pedigree, he has a good physical, and he is fast – we like sprinters!" said Muammer. "We have no training plans as yet."
Changing Colours finished second at Pontefract last year over 6f and has twice come home on mid-division this year in 0-100 and a 0-90 7f handicaps at Newmarket.
He hails is from the extended family of the two-time French Classic winner Lope De Vega.
(11:10)
Lot 896:
Lil'Frank, by Frankel and also from the Godolphin draft, is bought by Hamad Ahmad al Jehani for 52,000gns.
He is another yet to win but has good placed form and is out of the Listed winner and Group 3-placed Pepita (Sir Prancealot).
(11:02)
Lot 890:
Mount Tambora (Dark Angel), who has been running in France for Godolphin, is bought by Naser Askar for 72,000gns to go to Dubai.
The three-year-old colt has yet to win but was placed second on two starts earlier this spring at Chantilly over 1m1f.
He is out of the Selkirk mare Tebee, dam of the Listed winner Hertford Dancer, and a half-sister to the 2011 champion Italian two-year-old and Group 1 winner Nayarra, the Group 2 winner Gustave Klimt, the Group 3 winner Wonderfully and the Listed winners Blissful, Friendly and Cuff.
(10:49)
Lot 870:
Heavenly Wish is bought by racing presenter Sally Ann Grassick and in front of the ITV Racing cameras.
"She is for Carrisbrooke Stud, my sister Cathy picked her out but she could not be here today and left me with instructions," reported Grassick. "ITV Racing had had the idea of filming a horse going through the ring and being bought, and the two projects came together."
The filly, a daughter of Pivotal and out of a Hurricane Run half-sister to the Matron Stakes (G1) winner and Sun Chariot Stakes (G1) runner-up Chachamaidee (Footstepsinthesand), cost her new connections 23,000gns.
The once-raced filly, who is "unlikely" to remain in training, was sold by The Castlebridge Connections for owner-breeder Lady Bamford.
Watch ITV Racing later today to watch Grassick in bidding action!

(21:16)
Lot 835:
Stuart Boman plays his cards late spending 100,000gns on Morning Sun (Muhaarar), a winner of his last two starts for trainer Keith Dalgleish.
It is the second time the gelding has been sold at a Tattersalls horses-in-training sale – he was consigned by Freemason Lodge at 2022 Autumn HIT Sale when bought Durcan Bloodstock for 50,000gns.
Today's purchaser was buying on behalf of Australian-based trainer Annabel Neasham – Boman and the trainer having enjoyed plenty of success together with Tattersalls graduates, especially with Zaaki, the winner of five Group 1s in Australia.
The son of Leroidesanimaux was a 150,000gns purchase at the 2020 Tattersalls Autumn HIT Sale.
"Morning Sun is a progressive sort and is a type that Annabel does so well with," said Boman. "I have followed him since he was sold at the Autumn HIT Sale last year and have liked what I have seen. Keith Dalgleish is stopping training, and the horse would probably have been one he would not have let go otherwise."
(21:00)
Lot 820 and Lot 822:
two successive late lots from Park House Stables (A. Balding) are due to join the dual-purpose trainer Milton Harris, who does so well with Flat graduates when sending them hurdling.
Lot
820, Juan Bermudez by Nathaniel and the winner of one, cost the trainer, who signed under the Avon Racing banner, 25,000gns, while Galactic Jack (Lot
822), a two-time-winning son of Galileo out of the talented Champs Elysees mare Jack Naylor, was the more expensive of the duo at 50,000gns.He was signed for by owner Mark Adams.
(20:38)
Lot 772:
from this year's Juddmonte draft, Jerry McGrath Bloodstock gives 100,000gns for the two-year-old winner Tiverton, a three-year-old son of Expert Eye trained by Dermot Weld.
"He is going to the US and has been bought for an owner," reported the buyer. "As a young man I worked for Dermot Weld, I have a few contacts there still and they told me how highly this horse was regarded, particularly as a two-year-old."
Tiverton won his juvenile maiden on his third start, and finished in mid-division as a two-year-old in the Killavullan Stakes (G3). He has only run twice at three.
(19:24)
Lot 763:
the progressive Whiskey On The Hill is sold by Ado McGuinness's Skylark House Stables for 135,000gns.
The docket was signed by Armando Duarte on behalf of agent Paul Moroney and the southern hemisphere-based Ballymore Stables.
The three-year-old son of Ribchester won his third start in succession last time out when taking a 47-75 1m4f handicap at Roscommon off a mark of 76. He is now rated 83.
"This is the only horse we looked at, we liked him and he fitted our profile," said Duarte. "He will head straight to Australia on the next shipment. He is very similar to a Juddmonte horse we bought a few years ago called Emissary [Lot 1126, Autumn HIT Sale 2020]. Let's hope he is lucky for them."
Emissary certainly went on to make a mark Down Under – he won the Group 3 Geelong Cup and was runner-up in 2022 Group 1 Melbourne Cup.
Ballymore has training yards in Flemington, Australia, and Matamata in New Zealand.
(19:03)
Lot 744:
Bahrain-based trainer Ali Majeed, caught on camera earlier today dancing at Newmarket after HH Sheikh Sultan's Al Mohamediya Racing-owned Jasour won the Kingdom Of Bahrain July Stakes (G2), had further reason to celebrate today after successfully buying Vega Sicilia (Lope De Vega) to train in Bahrain.
"It has been a special day for us!" he smiled when speaking on behalf of HH Sultan Aldeen MS Al-Khalifa . "We wish all days were like this day! We won the Group race and have bought six horses and now this horse, and he looks a good horse. He won well last time, the jockey was very impressed. He will go to Bahrain for the Classic race, he is a 1m4f horse."
The four-year-old Vega Sicilian, trained by Harry and Roger Charlton and sold today by Barton Sales for 125,000gns, won last time at Goodwood over 1m4f and off a BHA mark of 86. He is now rated 91.

Lot 682:
"She has been bought for Carisbrooke Stud and Yvonne Jacques," reported Cathy Grassick after spending 95,000gns on Immortal Beauty (Cotai Glory). "Yvonne is always in the market for a well-bred filly and she was looking for something that could be very commercial."
Grassick added: "This filly has an outstanding physical, an outstanding pedigree. We will get her home to the farm, give her a couple of weeks and make a plan from there. There is a very obvious stallion on the pedigree, but we will get to know her a bit before making plans. There is a bit of time before the breeding season starts.
"It is such a fast commercial and that is what we were just really looking to add, some of that two-year-old speed. She has Group 3 two-year-old form and I think she was some value and you always want to try and buy value when you can."
After winning a 0-85 juvenile over 7f last August, the daughter of Cotai Glory took fourth place in the Group 3 6f Dick Poole Stakes at Salisbury.
She is out of the Invincible Spirit mare Invincible Me, the dam of four winners from five runners, including Mehmento (Mehmas), winner of the Surrey Stakes (L) and second in the Greenham Stakes (G3).
Second dam Megec Blis took third in the Athasi Stakes (G3), and under the third dam is the three-time Group 1 winner Charm Spirit and the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches (G1) winner Dream And Go.
The family extends to the Group 1 winner and Deutsches Derby (G1) runner-up Ransom O'War

Lot 690:
rookie Italian trainer Pierantionio Convertino adds to his string of 15 with Starnberg (Clodovil), buying with agent Alessandro Marconi.
"He has been bought for a syndicate to race in Italy and the Middle East," said ex-jockey Convertino who has spent time in Bahrain and Qatar. "His profile will suit the Middle East and he goes on fast ground. He has a good rating."
Starberg is the winner of two – the three-year-old gelding having won two races in succession in the spring, his BHA rating increasing from 77 to 97. He subsequently ran down the field in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot and then finished second in a 0-100 handicap at Chester on July 1.
Convertino has trained 20 winners this season.

Lot 685:
Alastair Donald of Sackville Donald bids to 105,000gns for The Parent, a three-year-old colt by Frankel and offered by East Everleigh Stables and the property of Godolphin.
"He is for a Bahrain-based client and goes to Bahrain for the Turf series," reported Donald. "He was the only horse we wanted, he should be perfect for the series. He is a fast ground horse, a cracking looking horse, and he is bred to be good. I am very pleased to get him.
"I don't think he stayed the trip on his last run and the form of his other runs looks very strong. He should do well in Bahrain and will be trained by Alan Smith."
The Parent is the first foal out of the Group 1 Gamely Stakes winner Sophie P (Bushranger). He won as a juvenile over a mile in 2022 and has twice finished third this year over a mile and 1m1f. Rated 82, he finished down the field when tried over 1m2f last time at Newmarket.

a draft offered by Jamie Railton generates plenty of interest – Scottish Dancer (Lot
652) by Highland Reel and from the Keith Dalgleish yard makes 39,000gns bought by D P O'Dwyer Bloodstock / Ashgrove Stables, Savanna King (Roaring Lion), listed as Lot

Also by Roaring Lion and owned by Qatar Racing with Cambridge Stud, he has been bought by Qatar top ten trainer Hamad al-Jehani for Nasser Aldehani to race on in Qatar.
Al-Jehani said: "He has a good pedigree, he will like the fast ground and I think it will suit being in a smaller stable."

John Ferguson's Natalma Bloodstock goes to 60,000gns on Fakhra.

Lot 619:
Balalaika, who finished third in the Sandringham Stakes at Royal Ascot, is sold for 330,000gns.
Bids for the daughter of No Nay Never, bred by the late Sir Robert Ogden and owned by Lady Ogden, flew around the sales ring, the interested parties including Gavin Hernon, Matt Coleman, and Mark McStay, but the action developed into a two-way battle between Eamonn Reilly of BBA Ireland, standing in his usual place by the back wall, and Richard Brown of Blandford Bloodstock, who was in his regular spot on the short stairs.
The two traded blows from the 250,000gns mark, right through to 330,000gns, which saw the Irish agent successful.
"She is for an existing client," said Reilly. "There are no plans, but she will stay in training and although no trainer has been decided she will probably stay in the UK. Her last run was very promising, and she has been brought as a long-term broodmare prospect for the client.
"She is good topped filly, has a good walk and behaved very well up here. There is plenty happening with the pedigree."
That pedigree action includes Bluestocking (Camelot), who also finished third at Royal Ascot collecting first Group race black-type with her placing in the Ribblesdale Stakes (G3) on just her third start. She has Group 1 entries in the Irish Oaks and the Yorkshire Oaks.
Balalaika is out of the unraced Frankel mare War And Peace, a half-sister to Bluestocking, the pair out of Emulous (Dansili), winner of the Matron Stakes (G1).

The filly by Showcasing is a half-sister to the Listed-winning pair Pythagoras (Zoffany) and Blue Gardenia (Mastercraftsman).
Third dam is the Kirsten Rausing-bred leading broodmare Alouette, the ancestress of last year's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (G1) winner Alpinista.
